The biggest thing that I've learned is that nutrition is number 1. It doesn't matter how much you or I work out, if we load our body with crap, we aren't going to see results! Try limiting sugar and cutting out soda. Find a gallon jug and fill it with water. Try to come close to finishing it by the end of the day. Strength training is very important. For every pound of muscle you add, you will burn an extra 50 calories per day. It took me three years to get to my pre-baby weight and I have about 10 pounds extra that I'd like to lose. Don't let it get you down! YOU CAN DO IT, MAMA!!!
For burning fat, sprints are amazing...it doesn't matter if you can only sprint 5 feet. Do it and work your way up. I used to walk and sprint from one telephone pole to the next. Remember that when you have weight to lose, you have to push yourself during your work-outs. They should be hard and you should be sweating. Be sure that when you work out you are rehydrating! WATER WATER WATER! I watch THE BIGGEST LOSER for inspiration and for work out ideas. If you need any ideas or encouragement, let me know. I know how frustrating it is. I am just now starting to feel good in my clothes!
YOU CAN DO IT!

Amanda, I just saw your post. So sorry to hear that you are having a hard time losing the weight. It took me 6 months to lose my baby weight. I gained 35lbs during pregnancy and lost 33 lbs post pregnancy. I did not take any diet pills or supplements. I've been eating healthy before, during, and after my pregnancy. I also practiced yoga 2 to 3 times a week. My weight came off naturally. I recently wrote an article about losing pregnancy weight at http://mamainheels.com/2012/11/19/eating... if you want to check it out. Good luck.

Amanda, I'm sorry your not where you wnt to be weight wise. As much as I'd love to tell you to hire me or another personal trainer I'm more concerned about the fact that you've had a bad year, sometimes feel down, and have a new baby. I'd encourage you to talk to someone and find ways to cope with the stress you're feeling. Whether it's a friend or professional or both. The rest will fall in place later. Good luck!

I was reading your post. I now it's along time from your post being put up but like I came to find out better late than never. I found out about this amazing shake diet through my personal trainer who is a friend of mine. Take a look at Body by Vi (svalderrama.myvi.net) He got me on the transformation kit and I love it because it is so easy and efficient. It's a Protien shake that tastes like cake mix and you can make any, literally any flavor smoothies you want. One for breakfast and one for lunch and then a nice sensible dinner, along with wise choice snacks in between if needed they also give you a metabolism booster and a hunger control thing to help. I lost 13 lbs in my first month and I had been stuck @ 150lbs for 3 years I literally tried every diet and weightless company out there and gave up. Until he told me about this over a month ago. Of course I blew it all in one weeks worth of a vacation to Jamaica but I started over again this past Tuesday, it has been a slight challenge this time around but so far 3 lbs down. it looks pricey but I calculated it and it turns out to $8.00 a day beats all the fast food prices I was paying. :D wishing you the best of luck.

Hello Amanda....I have two boys, myself....And first of all, it is hard to just find the time to exercise when you have children. No matter how old they are, but you also have to be extremely motivated and want to stick to a strict regimen. Snacking on junk food is a big no no. You also need to change your eating habits, as well by eatcing more veggies and fruits. I found that Jillian Michaels DVD's and Billy Blanks DVD's are extremely helpful with shedding the pounds. Take your baby for a walk as well around the neighborhood or local park when it gets nice out if you get tired of doing aerobic videos. Unfortunately, once you have a child ,it is not as easy to lose the weight because you have to be extremely dedicated to it and you also need to make big lifestyle changes. Good luck to you.

My secret weapon has been exercising when my bub has her nap - 30 minute dvd Carmen Electra Fit 2 Strip Vol 2. I put a mate onto it and she dropped 2 dress sizes in 2 months. I put another mate onto it and she's raving on about it to her mates. I went from AUS size 14 to size 8 in 6 months and have kept it off. Twice a week you'll see a difference.

my son is going to be 2 in april and i havent had the motivation to drop the baby weight til about 2 weeks ago. i am a constant eatter! i am almost never really hungry. i just love to eat, lol. iv lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks. i know it doesnt seem like alot, but i havent even been workingout. iv just been counting calories. i count everything. count your calories one day just eatting how you eat now. i was eatting about 3000 calories a day! if you just really try to cut back to 2000 a day youll lose the weight. i was told that if you eat 500 calories less than youre eatting now you will lose about a pound a week with out even moving off the couch. i love carbs so i cant cut them out, but i have cut back some and i dont drink anything with calories. sometimes just cutting out the calories from what you drink in a day will be enough. i had to learn not to think about how fast i can lose weight. i was wrapped up in how fast i could take the weight off. now instead of worrying about how much i can lose in a week i think about how much i can lose by summer. good luck!!!

I found a program that worked great for me.I lost 40 pounds in 3 months...very easy...I could have lost more..but my head wasn't in the game at first. I love the options that it gives me and the fact that it regulated my blood sugars. My parents both lost close to 70 each in 6 months...and my father dropped his diabetes medications - I never thought I would see that happen!

Check out their informational website www.powerlosers.com/?ref=Misty

This program has been around for over 25 years - to top it off - Its Dr recommended and they even have a Nursing Mothers program. If you are really committed to losing weight - take the time to check out the website

The best thing to do is follow a good fitness program. What constitutes a good one? Well, one that is FUN for you... that keeps you coming back. If you don't do it, it's no good for you, no matter how good the program is. Have you ever tried, or looked into BeachBody fitness videos? Those are awesome!! There are so many moms that have lost weight with them after having a baby by using Turbo Jam, Slim in 6, and also ChaLEAN Extreme. I do the ChaLEAN Extreme myself, and in that program there is a lady called Tony who has had 7 kids (can you believe it??) She looks phenomenal!! There is also another gal there who has had a baby and she is very toned. The program is truly phenomenal and I highly recommend it. Don't let the word "extreme" throw you off.... LOL. It's even for beginners, but beginners who want to take on a challenge. If you want to learn more about it, contact me, ok?

Hi, if I can I want to help. My name is Michelle and my daughter is going to be two in a week. I use to weight 125 and now am 177. I have been trying to loose the weight too, but it is hard. I also eat when sad or bored and sweets are the worst. I am a stay at home mom and can't go to the gym and I lack motivation. I want to loose 60 lbs. maybe we can help each other. I should also tell you that I do not have the best eating habbits. I make sure my baby eats well but I kinda slide either eat her leftovers or none at all. Help.
