Hi all, I just thought I would start a topic sice I have lost 50-lbs in the last year, then got prego about 4 months ago. So far I have kept off extra weight. (have not gained anything) And am trying not to put on as much as I did with my first one... (almos 80-lbs)

My doc told me she did not wont me to gain anything less then 15-lbs and nuthing more the 20-lbs during the full pregnency...

Any one have any good low impact work outs, and or any good pointers they would like to share with me and any others that are alos expecting who would like to keep the extra weight off.

I am on a good start, and I just wont to keep it up!

:)

Preggi Bellies was a great workout : http://www.preggibellies.com.au/

I did it and yoga while I was pregnant with Balen I still put on 20 kg but I lost the first 15kg by the time I left the hospital. Just did a quick conversion 20kg = 44lbs.

hi stephanie, i was a fitness freak before i got pregnant, loved full on aerobics classes but they warned me off them, so i found out my local swimming pool held water aerobics. i spoke to my doctor and he said that's a great idea, hardly any stress on back and joints because when your in the water everyones weightless and you don't get such a racey heart rate with is safe for your baby. hope that helps (if its winter you'll need a heated pool) bbrrrrrr...good luck

I started off overweight when I got pregnant due to an illness that I was on steroids for. I was losing weight finally then there was the pink plus sign on the stick. I am currently 7 1/2 months pregnant and still walk 6 miles a day. On days I feel more tired I do a little less. I also have a fluidity ballet bar that I do body weight toning with. (It is great for stretching) Listen to your body. I do some modified ab work but after the 4th month nothing on my back.I have currently only gained about 10 lbs and watch what I eat. I also do the Yoga Booty Ballet tapes if it is raining too hard for a walk. Don't beat yourself up if you have a calorie binge one day. Cravings happen. Just admit what you have done and get back on the wagon. Carbs are tough for me. I actually just had a bunch of pasta tonight. Feel a little guilty but will make it up the rest of the week with exercise and maybe a few less calories a day. As long as you eat a variety of healthy foods, and stick to whole grains and complex carbs you should do fine. I actually add a protein shake (yuck) because I felt I needed more protein. Both my doctor and ex-trainer who moved recomended it. Talk things out with your doctor if you are worried or see a nutritionist if possible.

Walk, lots of regular walking. Gym workouts are fine, keep your heartrate down. There are lots of really good workout tapes for pregnancy which include cardio, toning, pilates and yoga. Remember you only need 200-300 more cals/day while pregnant
