Hi! I have 2 kids a 2.5 r old and a 9 month old and am a sahm, there just doesn't seem to be enough time (and energy) in the day for me to exercise. I've managed to lose the pregnancy weight, I'm back down to 125, but I'm flabby. I need some tips/techniques that I can fit into my busy lifestyle. Particularly I NEED to tone my abs, butt, hips and thighs. I usually get cardio in several times a week by walking the dog, but would REALLY appreciate some advice from anyone about how to tone these areas!!

I think the best way to tone up is to incorporate resistance into your daily routine when with the kids. For example, before I take a shower I stand feet about 2 feet apart with knees slightly bent and tighten all of my abs. I raise my arms tight and do standing crunches. I always aim to get to 100 and its a killer! Another one for the butt and thighs is when I am on the phone or waiting for something, even while cooking, stand with a hand on the counter, or table to support myself (preferred in front of the mirror) and lift my leg back with resistance and squeeze the butt. I do this with my arms too biceps and tis and it works! Just try to do it as much as you can and you will feel the difference. Good luck!!!

The fastest & easiest way to lose weight along with tightening your abdomenal muscles is by wearing the Body Magic. I have listed below the information. Many many moms have had their lives changed for the better after wearing the garment.

Seriously, this is 100% guaranteed. Man or woman no matter what size you are. I thought it was to good to be true. I was one of those people that had tried everything out there to lose weight and sometimes I did, but always gained it back plus more. This is permanent & so easy. I never thought I could look & feel so good about myself again.

The product that allows you to lose 2 to 3 pant sizes in 10 minutes is Body Magic by Ardyss International. It is a garment you wear and it gives you instant results. Because of the special material that the garment is made of it immediately pushes your internal organs back into place and corrects your posture. The garment then firms your abdomen muscles as if you were doing sit-ups all day long. The body heat contracts your muscles and allows the fat in your stomach and hips to melt away without sweating. Body Magic is so comfortable you forget you are wearing it & it's not even noticeable to others. You will not have to wear the garment forever. The results are permanent just after a few short weeks or months depending on how many inches you want to lose. Once you are happy with your result that is it it's permanent. If you're interested in losing inches or even making a residual income with Ardyss International as there is no selling involved, feel free to view my website at www.ardysslife.com/bodybymoore and call 641-715-3900 using pin# 50447 when prompted to listen to a 7 minute prerecorded message. Then contact me at luvbug0000@hotmail.com & we can move on to the next step of making your life better.

Your post had me doing some research... What is recommended, is you do an full body work out. Concentrating on one area will not burn the calories you want and will not make that area look better faster. I read that you can achieve nice abs, w/o doing any crunches/situps. "Six-pack" abs is the natural shape of your abdominals and to get a nicer looking tummy, you need to burn off the layer of fat/fluff that's covering it. That'll be more easily achieved by a full body work out than by concentrating on one area. Lately, my schedule's been a little erratic, so I've had to cut back on much of my strength training. I am, however, continuing aerobics and still seeing results. In fact, my size 6 jeans, are now too big! Woohooo!

Ms. Perry is right on. I did P90X for about a year before I got pregnant with my second child. I always thought it was impossible to get back into a pre pregnant state. But you would be amazed! It's just an hour a day.

My son is 10 weeks old and I am back to almost my pre-pregnant weight. I started 3 weeks ago, but he's not on a schedule yet so it's been sporadic workouts. I do, however, make it a point to do Ab Ripper the 3 times a week even if I can't get the full workouts in.

Also...you can get the bootlegs off the computer if you know someone who can burn them! No subscription or anything.

I have strip tease videos. It's fun and it really does work the areas you are concerned about. Also power walk when you take the dog out or if you push a stroller try hitting some hills. I don't have a car so I walk everywhere and use a stroller, its actually a good work out :D

Also since you're so busy, try doing things while you're getting ready. Do squats while brushing your teeth...little things like that.

Oooo.. Also, look into Innovative Results http://innovativeresults.wordpress.com/

Aaron Guyett and the team he works with are incredibly inspirational and genuine. They really want to see you succeed. They're based down in Orange County, CA, but send out a free newsletter and offer recipes and tons of other info.

Also, YouTube the Naked Sailor, or Workouts with the Naked Sailor. It's Aaron demonstrating workouts you can do with little to no equipment. It made me blush to watch the workouts, just cuz I know him (rather knew him back in teh day), but he IS wearing clothes, they're just small shorts. LoL.He's an ex-marine and I think they might be part of some old work-out Marine uniform.. I dunno

Hiya! I have four kids (5, 3, 2 and 7mos). After having my first three, I was back to pre-pregnancy weight by 9wks. I will admit though I was sooo not toned after baby number 3. This fourth time around, weight loss has not come naturally to me like before. I'm having to work at it. I just recently hit my prepregnancy weight of 125. I noticed earlier today, while exercising, that a good amount of my flab is loose skin. However, I am seeing a difference and I hope it continues. Anyway, I've been using the Wii Fit. It's easy, you get instant feedback, and the kids think it's a ton of fun to watch. My two year old will even stand next to me and mimick what I'm doing. I'm able to do it whenever, I don't have to leave the house to do it, it's personalized to me and the instant feed back really motivates me. There's graphs on there: and seeing that line go down is such an incentive. Make's it almost addicting. I do crunches, bridges, lunges, push ups, yoga and there's still more I haven't tried yet, all on the Wii.

I've looked into that P90X thing.. Wanted to try it, but I know that it's not right for my lifestyle or the body I want to achieve. I want to be smooth, no fat dimples or muscle crevices. I also read that having an online weightloss buddy helps as well.

Check out www.topfatlosstrainer.com. The trainer is a guy I went to school with and he's great! He's started a blog that's free where he'll upload videos of exercises. He has one that takes 10 minutes and it's a total body workout. He even gives advice on the best way to schedule your weeks worth of exercises. Check out the website, it's great.

[deleted account]

I have 3 kiddos, ages almost 4, 2 1/2, and 10 months, so I can totally relate. I would recommend you give 10 Minute Trainer a try. As the name says, the workouts are 10 minutes in length, so you can couple a few together at once, or space them out into the times you have free in the day. AWESOME for those who are busy and on the go. Check out Love2Lose.com, Coach Julie side, for more information =0) Best of luck to you!

I love Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and Jackie Warner 1 on 1 training (Both are only 20 to 30 minute workouts). That should give you the weight training you need to tone up. I am 32 and a mother of 2 and people really started to notice the difference these workouts made.

Have you heard of Isagenix? It is a nutritional cleansing line that can help cleanse out the toxins in your body and flood it with all organic nutrients and minerals.

Check it out:

http://twong.isagenix.com/us/en/athletes...

The athletes pack helps build lean body mass and increase your energy. It also helps flood the body with nutrients to help tone the body.

I love the chocolate Isalean shakes. It is great because I am still nursing and don't have much time to cook or put together a meal. So the shakes are a great meal full of all nutrients and vitamins.

Isagenix also has a 9 day and 30 day mild cleanse. I have about 10 friends who have personally done the cleanse and have lost an average of 9 pounds. You can NOT do the cleanse if you are nursing or pregnant as toxins might pass through the placenta or breast milk. But it is safe to use all the other products of isagenix.

I have been only using the shakes and vitamins and have lost all the pregnancy weight with out having to work out at a gym. I used the shakes through out my pregnancy because my doctor said it was a really good choice since I couldn't keep anything else down the first trimester. I still use the shakes and my daughter is now 5 months and I am still nursing.

If you have any questions let me know.

sarah,

the best way to tone is with weights.  it's really that simple.  if you're already doing cardio, that is great!...with 4-5 days of weights added in (even if it's just 30 minutes after the kiddies go to bed) will help you add muscle which = tone, definition, and higher metabolism!! walmart has cheap ones...and they are so worth the small investment.  and go pick up a copy of oxygen magazine-- it has fantastic workouts!  good luck!!

Focus on eating low glycemic foods and adding muscle building exercises (squats, bicept curls, floor exercises, etc.) This will help you change your body composition and lose body fat...helping with the flab. Jump starting your metabolism, and increasing your energy with natural supplements, helps too. I am a weight management coach and would be happy to answer any other questions you have. Kim

Tie a string around your belly button while sucking in. (To suck in properly, imagine that you are trying to bring your belly button back to touch your spine) It will help you remember to flex your abdominal muscles throughout the day. It's like training them to go back to the shape they were in before being stretched out from pregnancy. It's not going to work out everything you mentioned, but as long as you're too busy (and exhausted) to do a total body workout, it will be a start. Also, you can flex and hold your butt while sitting (and typing on the computer) to do the same thing for your butt. Overall, your diet should be low refined carbs/saturated fats and high protein/fiber. Eat 6x per day.

You don't have to subscribe or pay any monthly dues if you choose to just buy a product.  You would just purchase a program and that's it.  There are programs for all types and budgets.  Would you like me to help you select one?

Hi Sarah,

Have you considered doing a total body workout program?  I was able to tone up considerably, after losing my baby weight with a program called P90X.  Have you heard of it?  This program, or others, will rid you of the flab in NO TIME! :)  I'd love to help you.
