I am a mother of 3 & my youngest is 3. I gained no wait with the 2nd & 3rd child, so basically I am carrying around baby fat from baby #1. I am so not motivated to exercise, but I soooooooooo need to lose this extra 20 pounds I can't seem to get rid of. Any other suggestions besides Just get up & exercise. I know I need to do that, but what else can I do to alter my non-motivation???

Hi!  I am getting paid to workout!  I have a team for motivation and accountabiltiy to keep me going.  Would anyone be interested in becoming FIT and HEALTHY and PAID to do so?  If so, drop me an email.

Over the last 2 years, I have lost ALL of my pregnancy weight (3 pregnancies and 4 kids later, yep I have twins!) and am fitter and healthier than I was in High school!

Oh, am enjoying staying home to raise my kids and being involved with their schedule and am on my way to financial freedom!

If anyone is interested, please drop me an email!  I would love to chat further about this AWESOME opportunity!  mishellew@live.com

I don't know if anyone has ever stumbled on "www.SparkPaople.com" but it's completely free & basically helps you track calories & exercise. You can use it to maintain or lose, you just tell it your goal weight when you register. I found it one day when I was looking for the calorie count in something from a restaurant. It will let you add anything & everything, so i actually record what I ate. No more "guessing" if the corn tortillas were about the same as the one I ate, or if you say "banana" for example, it will give you a range of portions, so you will be amazed at how accurate it is. AND, when you actually believe the totals, wait & see what it feels like!! It'll keep ya motivated to move & out of the kitchen after supper....hope this helps.

What if you were to get paid to work out and benefit others by doing so, would that motivate you? I can show you how.

Quoting Rebecca:

I have the same issues!! I have 15 lbs that I hate!! Are we depressed? do we not see a point? my husband says that he and my kids should be motivation enough to get me moving! So what is the problem, I want to start walking at night but I dont have a chance till at least 6 pm! its cold! I should get my bike down! I know I have ideas but no follow though! How do I change that?????

So glad I'm not alone!  Exactly the same here.  I tell myself I'm gonna do it and get all excited (usually when I'm at work and can't do anything about it).  I get home, and no follow through.  It's late, dark, cold, kids have homework, etc.....and the excuses keep on coming.  I don't know how to change it.  I keep thinking it's because maybe I'm not that unhappy w/myself, or (as stated) what's the point?  It's not a priority in my daily schedule and it needs to be. I so bad want to get back to that mind set.  I just don't know how to do it.  I keep thinking if I push and make myself work out (for more than 1 day), it'll come back to me.  Now, can somebody just push me please :)

Hello. I'm new here and I have the same motivation issues! I was really into working out, lost weight and inches and even finished a half marathon. Now, I've put back on most of it and just can't get back into the mind set. I like seeing all this advice though. Good luck to all of you!

Do things that dont seem like excercise...go dancing, roller skating, ice skating, biking, walking...and there are so many more....try keeping a diary of what you have done and what you have ate so you can adjust your activity for better results...once you just start getting active and feeling better you will find your motivation....i myself love to workout...i am a gym junky but my favorite thing to do is just dance around the house and listen to music...nobody is around to watch and you can really get into it...roll them hips and keep your abs tight...it works!

I have felt the same way for some time so I sympathize! Then One day I counted calories and I felt just a tad bit better. So I have been motivated by the good feelings I had. Then we happened upon a Wii fit. I wouldn't think that it would be a motivator. It does your BMI and physical age sorta like biggest loser. After it evaluated me I felt soooooo fat and the knowledge that my 23 yr old body was actually older. I can't even describe. I have only had the game for a couple of days but I plan on staying religious to it and have already lost 2 lbs. So I would recommend if you have a wii maybe scouring for one and investing. It has also got me motivated to go into the free gym @ my job! Also posting a picture you hate of your self on the fridge or kitchen area so u don't snack.

Have you ever watched the show "The Biggest Loser" it's fabulous motivation. You'll feel guilty for not working out and we all know how much we looove that guilt. :)

Try making it more fun for you and get your kids involved to. Me and my partner have an exercise DVD that we do and our son loves it.

Hi NIchol,
Did you have a chance to review the information I sent to you?

Have you tried Weight Watchers or just counted your calories?  That combined with ever just some walking would probably be beneficial to you.
