make sure that you cut out sugar that is not found naturally in foods. i don't eat anything with high fructose corn syrup in it. make sure the grains you eat are whole grain. whole wheat doesn't always mean whole grain. cut out soda. diet soda is bad to because it is loaded with sodium, which makes you flabby. drink plenty of water instead of other drinks, which add unneccesary calories to your day. when you eat your meals, try to load over half of your plate with veggies. lean protien is great. stay away from high fat foods and try to avoid eating out. YOU CAN DO IT! if you like grapefruit, it's great to eat. it helps your body block fat storage. try to fit in excercise 5 days a week. if you walk, go past 20 minutes, because that's when you start burning fat. my little boy is almost the same age as your daughter. we love to turn up some good music and dance. it doesn't matter what you look like and it's a fun way to get moving and get your heart rate up. i had my baby around the same time as you and i am still working on getting to my goal weight. don't get discouraged! GOOD LUCK!

Of course you can do it! Whatever your motivation is (a photo, etc) put it on your fridge to remind you why you are doing this - for yourself and you family :-) It helps me when I see my "before" pictures and photos of my son on the fridge when I think I might want something before bed that I should have... Chocolate!

Here is a link to some great articles on training, too. They give you lots of ideas on how to work specific areas. http://www.oxygenmag.com/training

I would suggest cutting out salt and drinking LOTS of water, as well as cutting back on carbohydrates late in the day (5pm or later) Just eat whole-wheat carbs for the rest of the day. If you are working out and eating healthy this should help with some of the extra weight in those problem areas, although lifting weights to work your biceps and triceps and doing ab routines will help definition.

I hope that helps :-) I have problems with my arms and waist, too, and I have noticed a big difference when I started doing that. Your little girl is precious :-)

also..weights are important. as you build muscle, you increase fat burning potential and rev up your metabolism!

Savannah.  Have you considered doing a total body program?  Often times we focus on working just one area of our body (problem area) and fail to focus on the rest, not allowing our body to perform and respond to its fullest.  I can suggest many great programs that will give you a total body workout, which is paramount in shedding weight, an eating guide AND will guarantee your results.  Let me know.  If you find a program, I'll send you a meal plan to get you started on you cleaning up your diet until your program arrives.  Hope this helps.
