My baby is now 2 1/2 and I am still 20 lbs overweight. I am unable to excersie due to degenerative (lumbar) disc disease. Before, i was able to lose weight by following a low carb diet and now I am unsuccessful with that. I am looking into surgery for my back problem, but really need to loose some weight before....Any suggestions?

Denise,
I don't know if you are still looking for help, (it's now over a year since you posted this) but I too had degenerative disc disease, which made exercise (and everything else!)very painful. I did a Nutritional Cleanse, (lost 22 pounds) and then continued with a highly nutritious shake for breakfast. (I found that I wasn't hurting as much and as time went on I hurt less and less!) My Doctor said it was probably the great nutrition I am getting...it has been "feeding" my disc. I also have an Inversion Table that I "hang upside down" on. I can now do some exercises! (eliptical trainer, walking, light weight training.) I have info on the Nutritional Cleanse if you want it. (I also became an associate with the company so I could purchase at wholesale.) Message me if you want some info.
Hope you are feeling better, Have a fantastic week!
Linda

Instead of looking for a major workout which can be rough on your body and your back, break it down into small bits throughout the day.

Do a few planks or jump rope for 2 minutes.

Also, one of the biggest boons I've found for my back is standing more rather than sitting. I work at a standup desk and I make sure I don't sit too much during the day.

Hi there not sure if you are asking for advice - but wanted to share this with you that will help. Hi there- I hit this too after having my daughter and ironically enough found out about the weightloss coffee at a women's expo- just by changing your coffee to Javita it will help you getting your weightloss plan - it has garçinia cambogia and other natural, kosher free herbs in it to help with sustained energy & appetite suppressant - if you don't drink coffee we have a green tea as well :-)

Here is my site if interested in learning more- I love it & has helped so many people already
Myjavita.com/jenniferaz check out the Dr OZ video great info on how the herb works :)

Best if luck!

Have you heard of Plexus? It's a powder you mix with water and drink once a day. Lots of my friends have had great success with it, some excercise and some don't. It's advertised as being all natural. Here's one of their websites, www.plexusslim.com/msmartin
And if you like it, you can sign up to sell the stuff too. Extra cash is always nice. Some people are worried about breastfeeding while taking it, but if your child is on solid foods now, that's not a worry of course.

Sorry to hear you are having back problems and are unable to work out. The nice thing though is that you don't need to work out to loose weight. You just have to eat right. Diet is 80%, exercise is 10% and genes are 10% of your fat loss. Those low carb diets, fad diets, low cal diets like HCG, and diet pills don't work, and you will just put back on all the weight if not more you lost. For true, long lasting healthy fat loss (not weight loss) you need to make the choice to change your eating habits for life. It has to be a lifestyle change and the nice thing is about it is that your family can do it too, even your kids. I am talking about "eating clean". You can get a used book about it from amazon, you can also go to eatcleandiet.com or toscareno.com Eating clean has changed my life! My kids hate fast food places now because the food tastes gross to them so it is easy not to go there any more. They are 7 and 4. They will take grilled chicken, asapargus, and yam over a happy meal any day! You can get The Eat Clean Diet or The Eat Clean Diet for Family and Kids, both have recipes in it, also there is the Eat Clean Diet Cookbook. Good luck to you! Remember there is no "quick fix" and no "magic pill" to loose the fat. Diet and healthy food choices are key and the only thing that will work. :) Especially if you need to have surgery you don't want to messing with any type of pill, and eating clean will give you more energy and you will feel more alive, and your body as a whole will be healthier and will respond better to surgery.

'd scheduale an appoint. with a speacialist reffered to you by your doctor. Maybe a physical therapist...and or a nurtitionalist. Some people have had success with Slim Fast...maybe that would work for you. Maybe try fiber pills too. Drink lots of water before "eating"...and try sationary excersize (any kind of movement) Also Ive heard deep breathing burns fat...when done for long periods of time.(like 30 minutes) the oxygenation burns your fat.

Because of your medical limitations right now, have you asked your doctor about what you are allowed to do? how about the pool or have a physical therapist give you exercises that will give beneficial and not harm your health?

Hello to all of you ladies! I know I posted a link above, but possibly didn't explain what it means to you... I am a mother of a 16 month old girl, and I have to work full time, so there is no time left in the day to go to the gym for me. A friend of mine introduced me to a line of prducts from 'It Works!' and I started off slowly using them, the FAT BLOCKER pills are amazing, they actually blocks and absorbs fat BEFORE your body does and is fluches out. I have a great demo for this product too, but using them made me a believer! They are natural and PROVEN to work without giving jitters or any of the side affects that you would get from other weight lose pills. I have a full line, BUT my all time favorite has to be the WRAPS, you really just put it on and wait a minimum of 45 minutes, and when you take it off measure yourself (waist/buttocks/arms/legs & facial) and the results are amazing! If you woud like to see proof, check out, http://www.wraptoanewyou.com ask me any questions, as I was skeptical about this line of products but it is worth it and IT WORKS!!!

I did weight watchers and lost about 70 lbs in 10 months with no exercise. It can be done if you follow the plan but it does take longer without exercise. Give it a try. I too have degenerative disk disease that makes exercise very difficult so this is my goal. I have gained some weight back after the birth of my daughter and am going back to weight watchers tomorrow to start again. Good luck.

What about yoga? I have a similar issue, as I have severe asthma and also a non healing surgical wound (a present from my delivery, c-section). Im starting a yoga regime tomorrow and my doctor says it should be relatively safe.

I have a few friends that are on Weight Watchers and they are doing great! "R" lost over 60 pounds in less than 4 months and "K" lost over 40!!! I know that they lost most of it by following the eating plans, but they do excersize as well. I wonder if you could participate in aquatic excersizes? They are very low impact. Good luck to you!
