Hi Bethany, it's never too late to lose weight. My advice is to lose your weight gradually by eating healthy. I gained 35 lbs. during my pregnancy and lost 33 lbs. post within 6 months. I wrote an article about it at http://mamainheels.com/2012/11/19/eating... if you want to read it. Good luck!

Hi, Martha. If you go to www.zumba.com you can read all about it and the different types of zumba out there. Remember, there's modifications to every program and it's all about losing weight while having fun in the process.

Bethany, I would personally recommend writing down everything you eat as when you actually see it on paper, it tends to make a big difference mentally and prompt you to want to change. I also agree with the ones that said eat organic (however, if you have a large family, buying organic can be expensive). Have you ever considered trying ZUMBA? It's extremely fun (not like some of the other types of cardio) and you don't have to come with any prior dance experience. It's also available on your gaming consoles. You can literally burn up to 1000 calories just dancing and having fun (no stress or pain involved). I love it!! Good luck!

If its called a diet that you follow a certain amount of days it is going to be too good too be true! Try to slowly change your diet to whole foods. Fresh lean meats fruits and veggies. Eating clean is one of the best ways to help lose weight that combined with exercise. After giving birth to my fourth baby i needed to lose 68lbs. I ordered the Insanity program from Beachbody. I followed it religiously! I also replaced my breakfast with a Shakeology Shake each day. I completed the Insanity program and now starting the Turbo Fire program. I have never felt so good! I am now 3 months postpartum and down 30lbs! I personally fell in LOVE with the beachbody programs so that's what works for me. If you find a workout you love you are more likely to stick with it.I loved it so much I became a Coach for Beachbody. You can go to my website and click my FB link if you have a FB page. I give free advice, recipes, workout tips, motivation ect on my Fb page. Here is a link to my websites and like i said just click on the FB link and it should take you right to my page :-) Best of luck to you on your journey to a healthier happier you.

Hey Bethany! You have a great goal that you are trying to reach! What kind of exercising are you interested in? Team Beachbody is a free membership :) You can set a profile up with your measurements and weight and your goal weight. What it does it's sort of like a journal and helps you keep your records in it. You log in daily and log in your workouts. I do Brazil Butt Lift and really like it! My friend lost 70 lbs by doing p90x. It's your preference really! As far as diets go, we have options you can choose from like low carbs, balanced slim down (which is caloric intake), etc. It's basically what works best for YOU! Everyone is so different. If you have a problem with snacking like a lot of people do, the caloric route may help you. They have recipes in there and ideas to help you. We also have a shake called Shakeology that is amazing! People use that to help with weight control, lose weight, meal replacement, energy, veggie/fruit servings, etc. They offer 23 minerals and vitamins and 70 organic ingredients. My fav is the chocolate. We also have vegan options too. I would love to help you and talk to you more. Our site is an accountability site. You can see other success stories and find out what is the BEST journey for you. Find me on FB it's Laura Smith Turner. My email is bbcoachlaura@yahoo.com my personal website is www.lovewhour.com

Bethany, whatever you decide to do, make sure to STAY AWAY from SOY-based shakes! Unfermented soy is NOT a healthy food. It interferes with nutrient absorption from other foods, messes with thyroid, and can cause cancer (breast cancer in particular).

Try committing into a Challenge for 90 Days. Really commit to it and stick to it. I did and finally lose the pounds I gained on my two pregnancies. I have two girls ages 2 and 4 . I lose 21 lbs on my first 90 day Challenge and have continued having my shakes once a day. I can forward you a picture of my before and after if you want. While on 90 Day Challenge I also did lots of walking with my girls, 50 sit ups and 50 push ups everyday and an hour lap swim 2 times a week. I still do this exercise until now.... it's now become a lifestyle. We are close to a public swimming pool so my husband and I arranged for me to go swimming in the morning , he takes care of the kids while I am at the pool. So it's good to have the support of your spouse as well. It's easy to get out of track when you are doing it yourself, so find friends who are committed to get in shape. in this way , you can pull each other to reach your goal. I am not an expert or trainer, but this challenge really did it for me. I won't deny that I am a distributor for Body By Vi- Visalus Shakes... I am. But you don't have to buy it through me, you can place your order with anyone. I just want to let you know that this 90 Day Challenge is what helped me to get back in shape. Commitment and sticking to it works... you will see changes in 90 Days. We are going home to visit our family next month (Sept)and I am bringing home alots of Vi shakes for my family, this is not available in my home country - yet. I am hoping it will- and soon. I love this shakes and my girls love it too , top it on their oatmeal for breakfast or add it to your pancakes and other breakfast meals. Message me if you have any questions - I would be happy to help ! All the best for your journey to get back in shape and get healthy! Our health is our wealth - so don't wait too long to do something about it.

Hello, Bethany! It's time for you to cleanse your whole body on the CELLULAR level (no hanging out by the bathroom!), so that it can release all the retained water and accumulated fat. I've helped numerous people loose 15-20 lbs. in their very 1st month. The side benefits are more energy and better sleep, better mental focus, and you don't loose any lean muscle. A 100 lbs. can be safely eliminated in just one year - some do it in as little as 4-5 months without any sagging skin!

The program is NOT a diet, it's completely natural/organic, affordable, it's easy to maintain your ideal weight, and you can even get your own "superfood" completely paid for if you cleanse with at least 2 friends. There's also a 30-day money back guarantee! Just call me at 515-441-9671 for more details. You'll get the quality of your life back like so many others.

The "best" diet is one that is high quality and in the right amount for your metabolism at your ideal weight. Since you need to loose a lot, this means that you will need to make permanent improvements in your dietary habits, not just "going on a diet." It takes about 6 weeks to establish a new habit, so consider this time to be the "on ramp" to achieving your goals. Follow the three 80% rules to establish healthier eating habits.
1. Make 80% of your daily calories very high in quality.
2. Serve yourself just 80% of what you would normally put on your plate. Eat dinner on a lunch plate to make this easier.
3. Stop eating when you feel just 80% full.
By establishing better food habits for yourself, you'll be demonstrating healthy eating and self-care for your children, which will go a long way to preventing weight problems from developing for them too.

Hi Bethany. I'm not sure what responses you've gotten so far. This is my first day on this site so I'm not sure how to use it.

I gave up flour and sugar the day after Thanksgiving 2011 and have since lost 70 pounds. It's not a diet, it's a way of life. I eat 3 weighed and measured meals a day with no snacks and the avoidance of individual binge foods.

Once you get the flour and sugar out of your system, you don't crave it anymore. Sugar is as bad a drug as cocaine. It sets up cravings in your body for eating in excess.

I just recently started exercising only because I have so much energy to burn.

I have another 45 pounds to lose, but I'm well on my way.

If you want to know more, email me: lahandbags@roadrunner.com

Hey Bethany!

I've noticed for me the quickest way to drop weight is cardio and clean eating- let me specify. No preservatives, no fast food, no processed food, no soda. Drink water with real lemon, and skim or soy milk if u need it. I read up a lot of nutrition and what goes in our food too which helped me... One of my favorite books is "skinny bitch" helps to educate on foods and encourages u to stay motivated. I Wpuld recommend fruit and oatmeal for breakfast ( not quick oats) lunch make a salad packed with veggies and low cal vinaigrette, dinner I'd say stick to lean protein- grilled chicken, fish-- things like that... Avoid Red meat. Pair meat with steamed veggies, spinach, sweet potatoes, etc. in between day snack on fruit, almonds, or veggies. Also drink as much ice water as you can. Ice water in itself burns calories (=. Also, in the morning a piece of whole grain toast and egg whites is a great choice. Do NOT lose hope...you will do this. Just focus! As far as workouts go, start small- Rome wasn't built in a day! I'd start walking 30 minutes a day for a
Week or even 20. Then the week after go up to 30-45min. The get comfortable with that and begin walking on incline or up hill more, if you feel comfortable
May e begin brisk jog? Walking is phenomenal all the same. The elliptical is also great along with walking stairs or stair climber, or even better walking up bleachers outside! Swimming is great too... Treading water tones everything, and last- biking. That's fun to do in summer. Aim to workout at least 5 times a week, but have one cheat day where you eat whatever you want. Also- in the morning sometimes black coffe can help curb your apetite all day, it may be a little boost that could help you. Hope this helps, please stay positive! And stick to a routine, you can do this! Let me know if I can help you any further!

Hi! In the past I have done Jenny Craig & it worked great, because you have food ready to go & don't have to worry about preparing it. But it's quite an expensive diet. Weight Watchers is the best, because it's the most adaptable to everyday life, and now with the online program and iPhone App it's easier. The trick is to keep logs of what you eat. On weight watchers the weight stayed off for the longest.

I was reading your post. I found out about this amazing shake diet through my personal trainer who is a friend of mine. Take a look at Body by Vi (svalderrama.myvi.net) He got me on the transformation kit and I love it because it is so easy and efficient. It's a Protien shake that tastes like cake mix and you can make any, literally any flavor smoothies you want. One for breakfast and one for lunch and then a nice sensible dinner, along with wise choice snacks in between if needed they also give you a metabolism booster and a hunger control thing to help. If you don't normally exercise at all start with a walk and just push yourself to walk a little farther everyday, if you do exercise just continue with your routine. I lost 13 lbs in my first month and I had been stuck @ 150lbs for 3 years originally I was 185 after the birth of my baby, i started to exercise and got down to 160 joined Jenny crags for 2 years and got down to 150 (10 bs only) and have been stuck there until last month. I literally tried every diet and weightless company out there and gave up. Until he told me about this over a month ago. Of course I blew it all in one weeks worth of a vacation to Jamaica but I started over again this past Tuesday, it has been a slight challenge this time around but so far 3 lbs down. it looks pricey but I calculated it and it turns out to $8.00 a day beats all the fast food prices I was paying. :D wishing you the best of luck.

the best way to lose fat and gain muscle is to do a workout that involves strength training, cardio, and abs. you cant really do just one to get significant weight loss gotta do all 3 and of course watch what you eat and eat as many calories as your body needs to lose weight, i just got a calorie counter app on my phone and its the greatest thing ever, you can put in all your foods and exercises and it tells you how many cals you eat and burn and it also can tell me from my height and weight how many cals tp eat to lose weight and junk

Hi Bethany,
It's been almost a year since you wrote this post, how are you doing? Have you been able to accomplish your goals? I hope so! But if you are still on your weight loss journey, I have something that can help you. My friend just lost 110 pounds! (100 of that was in 7 1/2 months) I've lost 22. She had tried out for the "biggest Loser", was chosen as a semi finalist, but didn't make it on the show. So she started doing this specific Full Body Nutritional Cleanse and ended up losing more than the women on that season of the show did in the same time frame!!! We are so proud of her! We have a group of people that help and support each other and we'd love for you to join us if you'd like. (My Doctor was the one who recommended this Nutritional Cleanse for me, so I know it's safe) I am now a Cleansing coach and would love to give you some more info if you want it. I hope all is well with you.
Have a fabulous week!

Bethany -- I have found the best way to lose weight is to find a workout you LOVE and learn how to fuel your body rev up your metablolism with the right food. Get rid of processed food, as much sugar as possible, all white flour, soda and as much caffeine as possible. Eat clean and eat every 3 hours! I learned how to do this and it changed my life. You have to pay attention, plan, read labels and write down what you eat. It is a process but you can do it!! Feeling in control and getting results are so worth it! People came to me to see what I did and I now lead others through a 10 Day Nutrition and Fitness Challenge to help them get started. I wish you all the best in your journey! If I can help email me -- ls@turbolora.com. (Can you tell MY favorite work out is Turbo Kick? LOL)

Bethany, it is all in your mind set... You have to first have the goal with very specific reasons WHY you need to lose the weight... write them down. (Health, physical attractiveness, not being winded climbing 2 flights of stairs...) After that, we know how to lose weight... exercise, lean meats, tons of veggies, avoid sugar... Think skinny!

I agree with Jen. You need to find what works for you. Start small and don't think in terms of 'diet'. Make lifestyle changes. Pick one goal at a time and go from there. Ideas: eat a healthy breakfast; eat 3 servings of fruit a day; go for a walk; etc. What do you know about proper nutrition? If you need help with that and just don't know where to start, talk to your doctor and see a Registered Dietitian.

the best program is the one that works for you that you will stick with. There is no one answer for every person. I lost 85 lbs after my first daughter was born by reducing portion sizes, counting calories, and running 2.5 miles every day with her in a jogging stroller. It worked for me.

Good luck!

Hi Bethany~ I lost 20lbs on weight watchers. I did gain it back b/c I didn't stick w/it and I stopped exercising. Now I work w/a trainer and she said the best way to lose weight is all cardio. We do strength train twice a week and the other days I do cardio w/one day off. My gym has a daycare too. When I couldn't afford to go to the gym, I walked, then jogged and now I run. It took a long time though. I don't count points anymore, b/c I just couldn't get back into it. I just watch what I eat. Good luck and I hope other people give you some more ideas.
