I am a physical therapist and we use the Wii Fit for our patients.  You can get pretty creative with it and use wobble disks on top of the board to make things more difficult.  Or you can sit on a balance ball and then try to balance your feet on the board!

Natalie - how did you get Wii fit thru the mail - they are in such high demand and low supply here I haven't been able to get one. Can you order off the Nintendo site? Please share....

Quoting Elsa:

The game is designed pretty well in that it doesn't let you do all the yoga poses, and all the repetitions right off the bat. You have to use the game, and the better you do, the more you unlock. The first few times I did it, I played around with the balance games, and the aerobics. Now I just focus on the strength training and yoga. I usually do aerobics on the eliptical machine, or when I do My Fitness Coach.

~Thanks Elsa, I will remember that when I actually get it all hooked up and synchronized. :-)~

I just got the WiiFit in the mail yesterday (still waiting on the actual Wii Game System to come in the mail), but I'm motivated and ready to go!! I sent my request as well. Any advice from anyone, on what to do when you're just starting out?

I got WiiFit shortly after Christmas and love it. It's great for those days when I only have a few minutes, I can at least jump on for a bit, even if it's just 15 minutes. I'll have to check out the My Fitness Coach.

I get bored with the strenghth training on the fit. I think I am a wuss though. Maybe it is too hard for me, but I have been doing free weights and lunges and things on my boyfriends pull up bar for strenghth training, and doing the Outdoor Adventure for cardio, I am telling you, if you do the exercises part of it, it will wear you out!!  How do you do the My Fitness Coach? I have a Wii Fit?

I never tried Outdoor Adventure, but it sounds like fun! I heard that the Jillian one sucks.. but I never tried it myself. My Fitness Coach is pretty good. I still enjoy doing all the strength training through wii fit... I do cardio on the eliptical, and then the other stuff on the fit.

I have a Wii Fit and I love it. I love how it keeps me motivated since it weighs you and everything. I will have to check out the My Fitness Coach though. That sounds cool. I do it as well jog on the treadmill.

I just got one for Christmas, but haven't used it regularly to work out.....I have a two year old, and another due on the 24th so I got it in anticipation of being locked in for a while. Does it work out well as a regular exercise tool?

Do you have wii fit? It's a balance board (like a step board) and the fit game bundled in one. It's a great way to keep fit. There is also a game called My Fitness Coach, which is basically like watching a fitness video, but more interactive.. you record your measurements and your weight, and it keeps track of it. It also adjusts the intensity as you get more fit. I use both the above, along with my step, stability ball, and weights.
