What do you suggest I do? I have a gym membership, so I want to make sure it doesn't go to waste. I don't have the time to make it to aerobics classes, or the prenatal yoga, because of work. But I am able to use the weights and cardio machines. What did you do? I've been pretty athletic my whole life, so I'm not a beginner. I know how to use everything. I'm a little "green" because during my first pregnancy (my LO is 11 months old) I couldn't work out or exercise at all because of a pinched nerve in my lower back cause pain even just to go walking. I'm open to any and all suggestions!!

Good for you for staying fit during your pregnancy! :) i had the hardest time during my first trimester even waking up in the morning but the second and most of the 3rd trimester i walked all the time and did the lower impact moves at BodyAttack at golds gym. For the first time in my life I ate anything and everything I wanted so maybe I stayed so active out of guilt lol. Do what your comfortable with just be careful not to get your heart rate too high.
Hope you are enjoying your pregnancy!

The most important part of exercise is to listen to your body signs of stress and need. Using low weights is perfectly acceptable if that's all you can handle. Using therabands instead of weights is another low-stress option. Your body is hard at work supporting a baby but staying in shape and strong is important to your recovery and self-esteem. Sometimes you need to pull back first trimester until morning sickness is gone. Visit www.hotmomfit.blogspot.com or hotmomfit.com to request more information.

Jozzelle, I played volleyball and track and field, so at the gym I was used to hard core cardio and lifting light weights but with very long repetitions. Right now, I can ride the seated bike for 30 minutes at no resistance, but that's about it. I get dizzy and lightheaded doing any weights, even 3lbs! So, I think I will take it very easy for the next month and see how I feel during the second trimester.

Definitely walk, that's ALWAYS okay, even if you're having a difficult pregnancy, in fact it can help a lot of problems. You can also swim and if you're still breastfeeding your 11 month old you can do upper body. What did you like to do before? A lot of sports, dance and other activities can be continued, in moderation of course.
