Hi, today is my birthday and I am happy to say that so far my age isn't bothering me! Ijust had my second child and am 33. I will be starting to train for a Triathlon after my 6 week check up next week. I am both excited and already tired thinking about it! I am overweight and work 40 plus hours a week as well as work with the youth and children at church twice during the week and as I said before I have a newborn and a 6 year old. Any advice?

I read a book that was very motivational for me and my training...it was called the slow fat triathlete. It was very good and it has all kinds of good resources in it to get you the right equipment and off on the right foot. The author is writing about herself and her experience becoming a triathlete and daily struggles and success that she continues to have. I like Taryn am training for my first marathon...although my husband is an ironman...I to would like to get into triathlons eventually, but starting with my first marathon to start.

Happy brithday to you Shalomie!!! And congrats for having your new baby! What a fruitful life, isn't it?? That's so great that you are going to start training for a triathlon, I did one a couple years back, after my daughter was born and now I've decided I want to train for a marathon.

So, you have very little extra time and going to the gym is probably the last thing you want to do? That's my deal, at least. Well since I'm going to train for a marathon and a lot of running will be ahead of me, I'm doing an at home workout program called P90X. Have you heard of it? Or Beachbody? They are fantatic programs, save you time and money, AND get you in shape. Any of their video systems will help you condition for the triathlon too. Many athletes use them to train for whatever. You can check them all out at www.choose2befit.com. Or ask me any questions. You'll really may like them, since you don't have to go far to workout, and you'll get the BEST results!!
