No longer losing weight and am looking for ideas/tips on weight loss

Since December 2009 I have lost a little over 50 pounds....I still have about 30 more I would like to lose. I lost the weight by cutting out all fast food, sugar and only drinking water. I also exercise 5 to 6 days a week. Over summer I took a break from the exercising, but still maintained my new eating habits. I didn't gain any weight back, but I didn't lose any either. Now that the kids are back in school I have resumed my workouts but am no longer losing weight and am getting frustrated. Any suggestions for "kick starting" weight loss???

try the 24 day challenge- a company called advocare that has been around for over 20 years has it. i actually sell the products and am on the challenge right now. the results people get from it are unreal!! im on day 7 and have lost 5.2 pounds. sounds like your metabolism has hit a plateau! try adding lemon water first thing in the morning to help boost the metabolism. change the diet up a little add new foods or cut old foods. there are many different ways to lose weight what works for some don't work for others. I tried so much stuff its a wonder I didn't give myself a heartattack with some of the side affects or stimulants found in some of the diet pills. So after two kids and sick of feeling ugly and huge I started looking for natural alternatives. Most of us hit a wall at some point in our weight loss. This happened to me last year and my weight would not shift. I was working in London at the time and despite attending the gym there even more (I upped it to 4 times a week) the weight stayed the same. I decided that I must be doing soemthing wrong and got myself a personal trainer. He told me that I was doing lots of things wrong (like overtraining) and was also not working hard enough in the sessions. This came as a bit of a surprise to me as I thought I was! However, he told me to take a week off training and then we began interval circuits just twice each week, and he also made chages to my diet (such as reducing my sugar intake). The training was much harder than anything I would do on my own but it made the difference and my weight dropped again. You could try getting yourself a trainer or give mine a try as most of the program was delivered online. Good luck.

A lot of times people have excess weight built up and a simple cleanse can get rid of toxins and help your digestive system work more efficiently, which a lot of times can be the reason for the slow of weight loss. Congrats on your weight loss :) I have just started my 90 day challenge and Skinny Fiber works well for me. It has the glucocomannan that Dr Oz recommends, plus Cha de Burgre (brazil weight loss) and Caralluma. Drink between 4 and 6 pints of water a day, try and have 3 days where your not eating white pasta white rice or potatos, on those days eat fresh salads with tuna, stir frys, chicken, fish veg, on the 4th day, have Jacket potatoes, beans, brown rice or wholemeal pasta, try and reduce the amount of protein and fat on the day you have carbs. This way your body will burn fat on the no carb days but its carb resorces doesnt get to low so that your feeling tired and hungry. It works really well ive lost 4 1/2 stone since i had my little one. Low salt too and steer clear from processed foods when u can. Hope this helps xx

I`ve had lots of issue with weight loss having a thyroid condition and anemia. I have always been 30-40lbs over my healthy weight and had troubles loosing more than 4-5lbs. I have discovered the nutritional shakes by Visalus. I drink 1 shake in the morning and 1 shake for lunch and eat a healthy sensible meal at night. I hear you, I finally lost my stubborn mommie weight after killing myself with everything and anything I could find associated with weight-loss. I drove my husband nuts! I too became frustrated and was tired of trying diet after diet and still being stuck at the same weight. I have kept loosing weight by not eating fast food, no soda or any drinks with more then 13gm of sugar I usually drink fuze it has a lot of different vitamins in it and most of them are 15 calories,i also started eating three smaller meals a day like in the morning ritz whole grain crackers with sharp cheddar and a fruit of any kind and one glass of milk for lunch a salsd withiut dressing and as fuze drink and for supper I eat a he as lthy choicd meal all this things you can get at stop and shop,i also started walking more hope this helps

I was stuck too. I took my exercise up a notch, added intervals and switched things up a little, plus my Doctor recommended I do a specific Nutritional Cleanse. It worked and I dropped 22 pounds. Have you cut out white flour too? Try to eat as "natural" as you can...not packaged or processed food. Also make sure to get some raw veggies and a fruit everyday. I have a long list of tips...too much to post here, but i'd be happy to send it to you if you'd like. Hope things are working great for you now. (since it's been a few months since you posted.) First I would like to say congrats to you!! That is wonderful that you lost all that weight. You should be incredibly proud of yourself!!

Did you take your measurments? Since you did lose so much weight, my guess is that your body is starting to get lean and gain muscle. I will tell you that I worked out for 2 months. My weight only changed by a couple of pounds and I was incredibly upset. Luckily I did take my measurements. I went after the 2 months and rechecked my measurements. Here I had lost 11 in. total. So even though it wasn't showing up on the scale the tape measure doesn't lie. If you are stressing yourself out about the scale, that could also be effecting why you aren't losing. Stress is a major factor in all of that. Don't give up and don't get discouraged!! Another thing is, maybe you need to switch up your workout? Sometimes you need to confuse those muscles and give them something they aren't use to.
