We're currently using Similac for our 7 week old. I was thinking of switching to the BJ's brand. Has anyone tried it? The doctor said they're all the same but I'm nervous about switching. Any experience out there?

You should try and get a sample and see how that works! My son uses Similac and it works well for him.

My baby takes the Sam's Club brand... It is exactly the same as Enfamil brand. I had no problem switching her to the cheaper version of Enfamil, mixes the same, smells the same, looks the same and she seems to like it the same too. All baby formulas go by the FDA guidelines, so I feel comfortable giving her this brand. I did feel the same you did though before we decided to switch though.

I use the Target Brand gentle formula, and my daughter is doing well with it.

While they are similar, they are not the same. Close enough and FDA approved, but they will never be exact. I found my baby did much better on Gentlease than she did with Walmart brand "Gentle" Some babies do great on the generic form. GL!

You hit the nail on the head of my worries. With the peanut butter scandal, pet food problems, and milk in China I'm worried about factory quality control. Thanks for the advice.

I've been thinking about this too! We've been using Enfamil A+, which is almost $30.00 per can (CDN)! I asked if the generic was the same, and the doctor said they were all the same. Just check out all the ingredients too see if they match. My husband used to work in a factory that produced animal food. The expensive brandnames were exactly the same as the generic store brands except they changed the bag! It might take your baby a few days to make the change (his diapers might look different), but changing formula is nothing to be nervous about. Good Luck!
