I was wondering when do you start your LO on a fast flow nipple. Mine is 5 weeks and has been on the bottle for the last 2 weeks. I am not in any rush to switch, but today she spent 45 mins to put down 4 oz. I was just wondering if there is a certain age at which you start one or if you judge by how much they take and how well they handle the bottle.

My son is 2 days away from being 10 months. We changed him to fast flow when he was around 5 months. We switched him from slow flow to medium flow when he was around 3 months. We had to move to fast flow because it was taking him forever to eat a 4 oz bottle and he was getting irritated. So we switched him to fast flow and he has been satisfied ever since.

My daughter is 7 months and she still doesn't like the fast flow.... but she eats pretty quickly with the nipples we have. Only time I even tried them was when we had switched to a different type of bottle and she seemed like she wasn't getting any... switched back to a slower one and sucked it back like a pro

I switched Carolines to fast when she was 3 months because she was a big eater and wasn't getting her formula fast enough. Best thing to do is to try a fast nipple and if baby gags or coughs she's not ready yet. The best thing to do is trial and error. Hope this helps!
