my daughter (4 months old) uses the stage 2 for her avent bottles (2+ months), or the stage one, whichever I grab first. But ALWAYS slow flow for playtex nursers. my sister is 2 1/2 and still has a bottle at naps and before bed (i know, i know) and she STILL uses a slow flow, my mom never felt the need to change, they just made her eat faster. i kind of feel like the faster flow might be a ploy for more money. i mean, i'm sure nursing moms nipples don't change size, right? babies just suck harder, i don't know that i'll ever change...

I'm using the born free bottles and nipples. The first flow goes from 0-3 months then after that it goes from 3-6 and so on. My daughter will be 4 months on Saturday and I still have her on the 0-3 month flow I found when I tried her on the 3-6 month flow it made her quite gassy. Yesterday when I took her to the pediatrician he mentioned that my daughter has a severe case of acid reflux so that might of also been the problem with the 3-6 month nipples. Just make sure you get the same brand nipple as your bottle or they leak :)

My daughter is 5 months now and I still haven't changed the nipples...still the ones the bottles came with which are the starter ones. I use the playtex vent aire and the born free bottles. I guess I am just going to wait until she seems frustrated eating. I have one fast flow nipple for the playtex ones. So i'll just use that when I think she's ready.

theres usually a guide on the teats.
if your using avent bottles theres an extra size .. which is a 0+ - newborn flow.
0+ (or 1+n for avent) - slow flow
3+ - med flow and vari flow.
6+ - fast flow
my son has the vari flow ones now at 9months .. i figure it makes him able to control the flow better .. plus he's on a thicker formula.
however this is just a guide .. and i assume that some babies need a change sooner or later than others .. i mean some adults may eat fast and some slow so must be the same with babys.
when changing oliver from slow to med at 3months .. he wouldnt take it so i had to keep trying to introduce the new teat slowly every now and again until he would take it all the time.
but it was easy when he went from med to fast flow.

I have no idea when to actually change them. Ive tried my daughter on the number 2 nipple for a couple of days and she would do alot of spitting up so i was just asuming she wasnt ready for the next level. If you find out let me know also haha :)
