Hi Hayley! yay, another canadian :) and in Saskatchewan no less. We've only been in SK for four years, previously in Calgary. What about you? I love my community and I love fostering. Advice for you? well, what stage are you at? have you done the PRIDE training. Is your hope to foster or adopt? I'm sorry I have so many questions, I'm just excited and I am so thankful that you've gotten on this journey. You won't be disappointed :) challenged, loved, hurt, overjoyed but not disappointed. Get back to me quick...

Southern Saskatchewan! And I agree with a post below about trying to get a group together for just Canadians as our laws and rule are different. @ Sonnie Neal...I would love to start a group for us Canadian Women.( nothing against our American friends, but you are right our laws are different) Also Sonnie, I am new to Saskatchewan and just starting the adoption/foster process, any advice for a newbie? How long have you been at the process? Any tips?

Duh dumb me..... I just took the time to ACTUALLY read what Karen posted. So - this is our community. LOL
June 30th we just took in a permanent placement. We were doing pre-placement visits for nine months so it was almost like a "paperwork" pregnancy. We are so excited, he's a wonderful boy, 11 years old and definately part of the family already.
Any of you have permanent placements? how has your experience been?

Hi Karen<
I love that you're trying to have a Foster/Adoptive conversation for Canadian families. I notice that a few converstations seem to be from USA... Do you have any ideas how we can start our own community? I love my southern neighbours it's just that our laws, terms, training etc are fairly different and it would be helpful for a new foster family like us, from Saskatchewan to be part of a canadian only community??? what do you think?
