Ann Marie, you absolutely CAN adopt an infant. You may even meet your child the day he or she is born. I did. We worked through Bethany Christian Services (they have offices in 33 states). But, there are MANY agencies out there who introduce birthparents to adoptive parents. I wrote a book about my experience and I think you would enjoy it. If you have a Kindle, downloads are free MOTHER'S DAY! It is available in paperback and Kindle through amazon.com. You can access also access it through my website: www.jodydyer.com
The title of the book is THE EYE OF ADOPTION: the true story of my turbulent wait for a baby. Check out the reviews and excerpts on my website or at www.amazon.com.
Good luck to you! Feel free to email me at jdyer415@yahoo.com

We looked into the children that are in State Custody. Your best chance for an infant adoption is by a private agency. State adoption are at no cost, but private agencies will charge various amounts. Good luck in your search. :)

I have adopted both through foster care and through a private agency...both methods have their pros and cons, but the guarantee of an infant was the biggest bonus with the private (domestic, not international) adoption
