Hi. I'm Lynn. Age 35. I'm SAHM to my four biological children (13, almost 6, 3, and 7 weeks) and foster-adoptive mom to one little girl (age 11 months). My husband and I have been foster parents for a little over four years now. Our current foster daughter (whom we hope to be adopting soon) is our 13th foster child.

Our foster children have ranged in age from preemie to almost 13 years old. We try to keep our foster children younger than our oldest son - but we do make exceptions on a case by case basis. Our foster children have also come with a wide range of "baggage" from a preemie on oxygen, apnea monitor, and tons of medications to pre-teens with severe metal illness.

Looking forward to meeting other foster moms for the help and support!

HI, I'm Beth, SAHM to three adopted biosiblings. My girls are now almost 4 and 2, and my son who is the twin to the oldest was adopted in my heart and now watches us from heaven. We have contact with an older brother who was adopted by another family. I've also fostered a teen... thinking about fostering again, but not sure yet...

I had to smile also about the preemie on oxygen... both girls went through that, thought I would never survive... but we did and are thriving!!!

Hi there! I am new here too. I am 33 and have 3 bio, 3 adopted and 3 soon to be adopted children (so technically foster for now!) that are 14, 11, 9, 7, 6, 6, 6, 5 and 4. We have fostered for about 10 years now and have had over 100 children come stay with us. After our adoption is complete I believe we are going to close our home.

We have fostered from newborn through 18 at various times and at our craziest were liscensed for 6 foster placements. It has been tough and very rewarding all at the same time.

Welcome. I have been fostering for over 2 years and have had 15 kids in here, 3 to stay, 2 teen moms, and ages ranging from 1-17. Have not had anything more than typical meds to give them. We did have one that slept better with alarm on the bedroom door, very sweet girl. I dont have any bio kids.

I had to smile when I read the oxygen and apnea monitor. Our son had oxygen and a heart monitor. When we went somewhere I reverted to a backpack for his diaper bag so I could just sling everything over my shoulder and still carry his pumpkin seat. I look back and wonder how I ever made it anywhere.

God bless you, you certainly have your hands full! I've been a foster/adoptive mom for 3 years. We adopted our first placement and currently are fostering a one yr old that we hope to adopt. It has been over a year and TPR has been filed. I would even go a bit further and try to take foster kids that are younger than my youngest, but in your case that would be very difficult and like you said, sometimes you need to consider case by case. Glad you're here!
