Please post resources that have helped you in going through the foster/adoptive process or raising your foster or adoptive child.

Beyond Consequences Logic and Control by Heather T. Forbes
When Love is Not Enough by Nancy Thomas

these are 2 completely different theraputic styles of dealing with foster and adoptive children, one worked very well for my daughter but made my younest son have worse behavior, the other worked really well for my youngest son but would have not worked at all for my daughter, my oldest doesnt have the same behavior issues. neither of these would work for him.

Also Parenting with Love and Logic by Foster Cline and Jim Faye. No one book with have all of the answer for you. Educate yourself the best you can and pull from that knowledge to learn the best ways to help your individual children. You don't have to use the same disiple methods with both children. They are individuals. While they may have come from the same home, they probably suffered different trauma due to age difference or processing things differently. Use what works for them.
