Whether or not to consider adoption?

I'm a mother of 3 children. Ages 12, 8 and 1. I decided to do foster care and have been taking care of 3 additional boys since April. Two of them, ages 2 and 1, are up for adoption.

What are your thoughts about a single mother, adopting, making family increase to 5 children?

Marie, First choice having mum and dad is the ideal thing as its standard! but you know what, single moms can have a lot of love, back-up from extended family members and the right finances to go ahead with adoption of 1 or more. The fact that she has been approved as a foster carer for 3 other children already shows her ability.

Denise, If you have looked at this practically and know you can do this then yes go for it. Do not rush into it tho, wanting to and being able to are different and these are not puppies you can send back if you 'made a mistake'.

Good luck

Thoughts about your question ... what do you think should be the most important, as we don't know your or your ability to have the time, patience, money, resources ,,, You may have lots of Love, but ideally even 1 child deserves to try and have X2 parent families if it was their own choice to, would not you?.

Really no one else can really know but you.

If you have the means and the support for the adoption I say go for it! Make sure to trust your heart you will make the right choice.
