So when I say BRAND new, I mean since Monday. She's not even a "foster" child. She is a friend of my step sons that needed a place to go. i'm not sure if that even qualifies me as a foster parent BUT I need some advice...

She is 15 and here with her mom's consent. Her mother is willing to sign something stating that I have guardianship, but the school is telling my husband and I that this isn't good enough to change the school records. The issue is that I need to be able to take her to the doctor, write her a note if she's late, sign her permission forms, etc. Any idea what I should do in order to make this possible and make me her legal guardian (live in Ontatio, Canada) without her mother giving up legal custody?

Biological Mom can list you as legal guardian! She can do this at your local DSS! It has to be in writing for school and anytype of medical care.
