on the birth certificate who does it say "delivered" your baby. DS's birth certificate says father but really he didn't do jack. The lady helping us fill out the form said it just had to be someone other than me but Why? Any solo birthers have there own name on the birth certificate as the deliverer?

Hubby's name is on there but, um. I did. lol He missed our last birth by minutes. My 3.5 ( at the time) y/o son was standing next to me.

My granddaughter had her second baby in August. She had the best epidural ever given. She goes fast and while she was throwing up she delivered her baby and didn't even know. The nurse was looking at the monitor and it went blank, she threw back the covers and said "baby in the bed". The doctors name still goes on the bcv, her doctor didn't get in the room till 10 minutes later. She had only been in the hospital for three and a half hours. went from 4 to 10 in an hour. Actually I think having a name of the deliverer is to assure that someone DID indeed witness the birth and could attest to the date, time and sex of the child.

even though i pushed him out and was the first ones to lay hands on him i did put dad as the 'catcher' for me i debated as i wanted the 'credit' for it but also wanted him to feel he helped (which he did by just doing whatever anyone told him too)
you could just put your name there anyway. see what they say if anything they may just return it to you with a little note but i bet whoever puts it into 'the system' wouldn't even notice as it's such a weird thing.
