Hey mommies!

Just wondering who changes your childs feeding tube or g-tube? How often do you change it?

I change my daughters g-tube myself and have always done it. I change it every 3 months and dont know if im changing it too often.

Just curious to know what other mommies are doing also....

Hello..I change my granddaughter's Mickey button every three months unless it leaks. We check the water level every week.

We change my son's g-tube ourselves. When he was younger and we were using it for all his feeds, we changed it about every 4 months. Now that we are using it mostly for venting, the doctor said we can change it every six months unless his balloon is leaking. We check the water level every two weeks. It we lose more than 2 cc of water, we change it no mater how long it's been (one time it was only 4 weeks and the balloon had a leak).

Hi!
I change my son's g tube. His doctor said every 4 months unless the valve starts to go bad. And of course after he said it my son's valve in his mickey went out and it had only been about two months.
