my 4 mth old grandson james has just started to giggle as only a baby can giggle....he is so wonderfully hysterical to watch......he is also trying to talk....don't know what he is trying to say, but whatever it is......i'm sure he will let me know when we speak the same langauge....

it seems to me that us grannies don't have as many problems with our grandchildren as we did with our own children .....so i would like to hear about the good things you have experienced as a caring grandmother...hope to hear from you all soon...love from me and james

awww, the poor little guy! and you! I was very, very lucky with Kate she had no pain at all, she never cried when teeth were coming thru. Definetly chewed and drooled like crazy. We use to put her teethers in freezer so would get good and cold but not frozen and she would gnaw on those very happily. I was very lucky with her as I remember my other children were not so great about teething!

I hope it all passes quickly for the both of you!! Tylenol may help those long nights with no sleep.

Good luck and just know this too shall pass............

Good for you & James!! House must be beautiful being that old! I prefer the older homes to the newer one, much more character to them! Yes you had better be working on the fitness level, they get so energetic, I have to tell Katie to slow down I can't keep up with her! LOL

Kate's new thing to do is imitating people! Oh my, the other night she had every one at dinner table almost peeing their pants because she imitated my sister in laws laugh! Way too funny, couldn't even eat after that! LOL Of course my sister in law didn't think it was too funny, but she was chuckling silently afterwards!! LOL As they say "out of the mouths of babes!!"

Time has gone so fast, I can't even tell you! I got Katie when she was 4 and a half months old and she is now 3, seems like just yesterday she was a baby, taking nice naps and now she is constantly on the go with no naps for me or her! LOL So enjoy James at this stage but boy it changes fast!!! For you that is! LOL

Hope all is well and wishing you much joy,

chat soon again..........

Good news.....James loves the extra space in our new (over 100yr old) house.....he has started to move forward ...not quite crawling as such...more a commando crawl....he still gets up on all fours and rocks back and forward.....it won't be long before he really takes off.....I had better work harder on my fitness levels so I'll be ready to keep up with him..lol.....all the best...Cheryl and James

II feel your pain! LOL I hated the wholemoving concept! Packing, moving and unpacking! Not a fun thing to do in my book! But the feeling of relief once your all settled in new place is worth the effort. I love our new home and Katie already acts like she has lived here her whole life! Adjusted very well! Been doing the whole lets get aquainted with new area, brought my 16yr old to the high school so she could get register and start picking out classes for the fall. Next need to find the library, feel like we really live in the boonies now! LOL

I hope all is going well for you with your moving and you & James find happiness and space to be very abundant in your new home.............

I haven't as yet attempted the playgroup scene...James goes to family day care one day a week to be with other children...he loves going and the other kids look forward to his arrival.....It's his social day out......I get to catch up on things too like shopping and sleep...I have been told about a story-telling session at the library and aslo music groups for little ones....James has grown heaps...he is almost ready to crawl but manages to roll from place to place in the mean time.....we are moving house as james takes up to much space and we have out-grown this unit.....in the middle of packing at the moment (seriously YUK)....all our best wishes....James and Cheryl

Good Morning Cheryl & James

Hope all is well for you both. Sorry, I haven't been on here in awhile, we have sold one home and bought another one in different state. Finally settling in and getting back to normal now! Thank you for the last post, its nice to know. Your sister is probably very correct in her thoughts about under stimulation. We as older adults can only do so much and I really believe Katie does need other children.....non of our friends obviously have children this age. LOL I have tried a playgroup at a local library in our last town but I was very uncomfortable myself as all Moms there were in their 20's and knew each other! I felt like an outsider. Now that we are in different area I am going to start investigating around looking for some options for Katie to get involved with other kids. Wish me luck! :)

How is James doing? Growing like a little weed I am sure! :) Crawling yet? He's so adorable in the pic with you!

Hope to hear from you soon.........

Have a great day.

hi to you bobbi jo and your family

something my sister debra said recently may give you hope for the future...

her son hit 2 and went bizerk for a bit.

as it turned out,  the problem was that he was under-stimulated .

when he finally got to school and started to display his intelligence as being above average,

he really settled down.

he was given lots of problems to solve that kept his over-active brain occupied.

he is now 23 and one of the nicest young men you could meet.

your granddaughter may be similair and there maybe a need for her to be given a few things that she can work out for herself.....this is all theory and you will have a better idea than me if this is the case...but i rather suspect that you may just have one very clever young lady to contend with........best wishes from me and james

Good Morning Cheryl & James,

Don't you just love that, the giggling and the babble! It was my favorite time! Babies are just so expressive and cute at this age! I miss it. My granddaughter will be 3 next month and although she can be very cute and laughable at times I am finding it most frustrating at this time. My husband jokes that we need to call The Nanny - Jo, to have her come in fix the mental meltdowns. I know this a phase and she will outgrow it, (hopefullly sooner rather than later!) LOL But let me tell you she knows how to throw a full fledged temper tantrum with not a care in the world who is around or where she is at the time. Argggg! LOL So enjoy these awesome times with James as there will be some very trying ones to encounter as well. I look forward to Katie growing past this stage she is in, as I am not as young as I once was and my patience level is not as it was back then either! LOL

i look forward to hearing more about James and his antics as he grows thru his curiousity of life! Hope all is well with the both of you.

Take care

Bobbi Jo
