I suddenly find myself swamped in baby party invites and have no clue what to give these little ones. Being a very eco-friendly mom, I don't want to go out and buy cheap plastic rubbish! Has anyone got any ideas that don't cost the earth?

Have you checked out Thirty One Gifts. They have just added a kids line starting March 1, 2011. Really cute stuff from bibs to organizational totes for the nursery. They all can be personalized as well. www.mythirtyone.com/14472

greentoys.com they make their toys from recycled milk jugs. I've only seen them online, I live in Germany. I plan to check then out my next trip back to the States. Haba makes great toys. It's a German company and the products are made in Germany. They don't use paint, all of the wood toys are colored with nontoxic stains. My kids have quite a few.

Wooden toys are also a great alternative to plastic... be sure to check on the products integrity, Haba is a great line. Nova Naturals is also a great company, just a little pricey but for a good reason. Good luck!
