I'm planning on attending the Earth Day Festival in Sayville, NY on May 1st. I am also going to spread the word on what we can do to make an impact for a Greener Earth our children and grandchildren can enjoy for many years to come.

Growing more TickleMe Plant with my Kids! Growing a TickleMe Plant is a great way to teach kids to be more sensitive to plants and nature. What child wouldn't want to grow an animated pet like plant that acts as if it were being Tickled when you tickle it!

We are going to start recycling and teaching my 21 month old how to do it also. We are also going to look into composting to recycle our leftover food.

On Saturday April 24th my daughter, husband & I will be attending Central Florida Earth Day 2010 at Lake Eola park and tomorrow (Earth Day) my daughter & I will be doing some planting. We did a lesson yesterday to remind her of the importance of the 3 R's, which she made a song up for! =) And We will also continue to research ways we can live a greener lifestyle! =)

We don't do anything to celebrate/honor the day, but my son is responsible on a daily basis of making sure our recycleables go into the proper waste can at home.

Lisa,

You can plant a tree. Go to your local recycling center Look at what you are currenlty doing and see if you can make changes and get them involved. Do you watch Nick Jr? My kids love Moose A. Moose and the segements he does on Eco Rangers is really cool. Teaching them to turn things off when not in use, reduce , reuse, recycle, and such.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Does anyone have any good ideas for using the day to teach a preschooler about taking care of the planet?
