Jennifer, that is an adorable picture.

My daughter LOVES water, she would rather have water than any other liquid and she still gets constipated....I feel so bad for her. She is on Lactulose and it does help but there has been a couple nights that I just completely forgot and then the poor baby suffers the next day, we can not miss a dose. She has several health issues but none that anyone can say that is what causes her constipation. I wish, for her sake, we could figure out the reason.

It might be that your child isn't getting enough fluids. We had/have the same problem. IF my son drinks enough water, he doesn't get constipated, and then he will eat/drink more, and gains weight. His new GI doc put him on Miralax to help with the constipation. When my son is constipated, he doesn't even want to drink water, and won't eat either, meaning, he doesn't get enough nutrition. He is then more susceptible to getting sick, and doesn't grow much. As long as we keep the constipation under control, he grows much better!
