Hi everyone my name is chelsea and im a mother of a beautiful 9 month old daughter. I decided to join to talk to other parents because my daughter is below 0% on the growth charts and only weights in at 14.6 lbs, 25 inches and didnt double her birth weigh till this month. Im just wondering what doctors have been telling other people whose children meet develomental mile stones but not growth milestones. my doctor just keeps telling me she is going to be small, and thats alright because im small but i dont think eveything is alright and we dont know why im so small(4"10) i also have been having problems with my joints since i was 14 and want to know it any of this is linked. i feel like there is no way that it is ok that my 9 month old is till in 0-3 month onsies and 3-6 month pants, How do i get doctors to look into things

I understand completely. My son had severe diahrrea for over a year and didn't gain any weight or grow at all for almost a year. He was in a 0-3 mos when he was a year old and will be 3 here in a week and has just hit 21lbs. He has had a feeding tube and been to a few specialists. We have never had any genetic testing on him but are seriously considering it. We took him to a gastrointerologist and everything was fine. He was referred to a feeding and growth clinic and they were convinced that we didn't feed him. After several months of feeling like we were being treated unfairly we had his pediatrician call and tell them we would no longer be taking him there. He is very active and most of the time refuses to eat. We have him on Boost Kid Essentials 1.5 Cal plus fiber so we at least know he is getting the proper nutrition. I would suggest you push to get answers if you know something is not right, just don't be pressured into thinking it is your fault or that you don't know what you are talking about. Hope this helps. If you would like to ad me to your circle you are more than welcome. It is great to see that there are other people going through the same problems as i am. Send me a message if you need answers to any questions.

I'm afraid you have to persevere and keep pushing the doctors. At 6 months my son still fitted into 0-3 clothes an by the time he was a 1 yr old we were still dressing him in 6-9 month clothes. Does your daughter have any feeding issues. My son has severe reflux and wouldn't put any weight on. Having small parents doesn't always mean small children. Try your Health Visitor and voice your concerns about her being so small. It can be frustrating i remember people saying how small he is and he looks about 9 months when he was really 15 months old. At least she's meeting her developmental milestones and that's one less worry. Again just keep pushing and point out what you've said here about not being happy. All you can do is keep trying your Doc to find out what's wrong. I hope this helps x
