Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am the proud mom of my daughter who is almost 4. I got married a little over a year ago, and this past December, my husband and I found out that we were pregnant, but I cried when I found out, because I knew something was wrong. Though I couldn't figure it out, I knew it was not a good thing. 4 days after finding out, I ended up in the ER, and had emergency surgery. They removed my left fallopian tube, it was completely ruptured, and had extensive internal bleeding. Though it was difficult at the time, and still is some days, my husband and I have decided that we are ready to try again. I was wondering, how successful you guys have been on getting pregnant again. I am terrified that it could happen again, but I am hoping for the best!

Hi, just wanted to offer some hopeful advice, I had 2 perfectly normal pregnancies before I had my first ectopic pregnancy 10/1/06, I had a complete rupture and emergency surgery to remove my left tube. My husband and I found out I was pregnant again in May of 2007, we weren't trying but we weren't not trying. I had a perfect pregnancy and our daughter was born 2/28/08. Unfortunately we found out I was pregnant again 12/20/08 but that baby stayed in my right tube, and I again had emergency surgery on 1/4/09 to remove my tube. It is very possible though to get pregnant and hopefully you will conceive again soon. I wish you the very best!

Hey Sarah,

I too lost my left fallopian tube just recently, and totally feel the exact same way. I wish you the best of luck in getting pregnant again with a healthy and safe pregnancy. I never imagined this ever happening to me. I just think it'll make us love those future babies even more when we get them in our lives. Best of luck hun

hi sorry got no useful advice, just writing to say i have been through the same thing, mine only happend recently, 4 weeks ago i had to have surgery to remove my right tube, i was devestated, i had to stay in hospital for 5 days afterwards, i am just lucky to have my 2 beautiful boys already, i am not ready to try and concieve again yet, maybe in a year or so. i am also terrified it could happen again. i wish u luck on concieving

Hi Sarah...it is wonderful to have you be a part of this community. It has been 7 months since our experience and we haven't been doing anything to prevent pregnancy and have not been successful at getting pregnant. My doctor says it's because each month only one ovary produces and releases eggs. Because I only have one producing ovary, some months there won't be any eggs released to be fertilized. She said it would happen eventually, it may just take longer. Just continue to be encouraged and it will happen.
