Just wondering how other's prepared their kids meals? Do you make separate meals for baby or does he/she eat what you eat? My husband is keen for me to start feeding my LO what we eat to save time and be more cost effective as I'm making him different meals to us atm. If you do eat the same things, what sorts of things do you make? I want to give my baby the healthiest meals possible, so i suppose it's a good idea we eat healthier too! Just wanted some input as to how others manage meal times, what food you eat, recipe ideas etc. Thanks!

I was all for simplicity when my babes were little. So it was fruit and vegetables for lunch and dinner. Little did I realize at the time, that I was feeding them the best food possible for their growing bodies, not to mention how I was laying the ground work for the future. People have commented on more than one occassion how impressed they are that my kids will voluntarily select vegetables when they are preparing their own plates. Some of our favorite veggies include baby carrots, cabbage, and avocados. My son will even be circling when I'm preparing a meal that includes yellow peppers, in the hopes of getting his hands on a little (raw).

Well, I actually eat what she eats. I noticed i was feeding my daughter a more balanced meal than myself so I decided to start eating what i was feeding her. She will eat almost anything, especially if I eat some first. She has a dairy allergy so i have to use soy products, but we still get all th nutrients we need. She really loves noodles of any kind, spagetti can be messy, but its sometimes worth it to see her devour it. Always a side of well cooked vegetables.

I gave my son his own meals until he was 18-months old because we had so much difficulty making healthy meals for ourselves (we were trying to settle into a home in East Africa and I had morning sickness with #2). Once we were able to eat healthy, balanced meals ourselves with lots of fresh veggies and fruits I had him eat along with us. It is way easier.

I forgot to say what he eats: for breakfast he has oatmeal or dry cereal with some fruit or toast with butter and jam. For lunch he has a pb&j sandwich, a meat sandwich, soft fruit or vegetables, and for dinner, he just has what we have. That is just a sample of some things he eats. Good luck!

I give him anything we eat too. As long as it's soft enough to chew for their little teeth and mouths. He loves everything we eat.

For breakfast, my 9 month old shares my husbands plain toast and has a handful of cheerios plain. Then for lunch, I just have a granola bar, so she has an oatcake, some pepper, spring onion, carrot sticks, kidney beans, raisins, apple etc. Anything she can eat with her hands. For dinner she shares our meal. She loves omlette, she doesnt like tuna, she shares curry, spaghetti bolognase, rice and chicken, she even tried some steak but couldnt chew it, so she just sucked it and spat it out! All our food is organic and free-range. She has a baby organic yoghurt or fromage frais for dessert, and a peice of whatever fruit we are eating. Clementine, apple, prunes, figs, dates, pears, kiwi... anything! During the day I'll give her a baby rusk if we have a biscuit, or some raisins. If I'm having chocolate and she shows an interest I'll give her a tiny bit on my finger. She likes it but she's never asked for more yet. (Yet!!)
