Has anyone had trouble getting their child to drink cow's milk? She still wants formula. I have tried cows milk at all different temps, mixed a bit of vanilla formula in with it, tried milo, offering when she's sleepy etc but still no!
I think my mistake a was not changing her straight away when she was 1, now she's set in her ways....
One taste and she WILL NOT have any more! I'm worried about calcium and generally would like her to have it instead of formula as it is cheaper!
ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED!!

with my son he would not drink cow's milk, but he really liked strawberries, so we would take half a strawberry and blend it into his milk to flavor it. So maybe if there is a fruit that she likes try blending it into the milk. We got to the point where we would give him just plain milk with out the fruit and he now loves his milk. Best of luck!

and only commercialized, factory farm milk is full of antibiotics, hormones and lack nutrition. But raw milk is full of amazing enzymes, nutrients and vitamins. and there are NO hormones or antibiotics. it is pure milk, and it tastes amazing!!!!

the reason most children do not like milk is because commercial milk is rancid. It has generally been months since the milk was pumped before you drink it. Pasteurization and homogenization, make the milk even worse. If you were to offer your child raw milk, I would bet he/she would love it. http://www.westonaprice.org/Milk-It-Does...

And I do agree that milk is pushed too much. We need to drink half our weight in ounces of water everyday. So start your babies around a year. get them used to drinking water.

And please do NOT give anyone you love soy milk/products. For some reason soy has become a health food. It is the exact opposite!!!! I too, fell part to the - I am a good parent because my kids drink soy milk and eat tofu- band wagon. And I regret it everyday! Please research the truth about soy before you give anymore to your family.

You don't really need to get her to drink cow's milk so don't worry about it. In a study of osteoperosis in women a large group of nurses were tested for bone density after a period of time consuming more or less cows milk. The group that drank more milk had lower bone density. It is much better to get calcium from dark green veg. Cow's milk is full of hormones, antibiotics, and pollutants too- PCBs and dioxins are stored up in fatty animal tissues. It's one of the biggest allergens and has only been consumed widely in the western world where we have more osteoperosis, cancer, allergies, heart disease... It's not really natural to drink the milk of another species. This link might be of help:

I know in this country dairy is pushed at you but you really don't need it and shouldn't worry about it.

First do NOT say milk say Formula. and start off with just 2 ozs. of milk to 8ozs. of formula. My daughter wouldn't take it at first but I tried this and it worked. Just slowly start adding more and more milk to it but you have to also keep it at the temp as you normally would, bringing it down slowly with the addition of milk. She shouldn't taste the difference. My daughter is now completely on milk. I got this advice from my older sister who has three kids.

I think what put her off the word milk is I have a 3 month old who I express breast milk for...my 19mo got his bottle and tried it and didn't like it, but she knows that its MILK. If I ever say to her to try some milk she won't even have a sip as she thinks its breastmilk. Even if I dont say milk one sip and she wont have any more.
