Are there any good books to buy?

i love annabels books as well, but I really love wholesomebabyfood.com too. I have a lot of really great baby food cook books as well as ones for toddlers. My favorite ones came from onestepahead.com. I love making baby food, its actually really fun once you get the hang of it!

I never used a recipe - I just used the food we were all eating and blended it up, or just tossed random veggies and meat into a pot, cooked it, and blended it. Then I'd freeze it into ice cube trays and keep it in bags in the freezer. So convenient and delicious, the babies used to wolf it all down.

I like the annabel karmel recipes, she has lots of books but I just print off the ones on her website, its far easier than searching through a book and cheaper! She also puts information at the bottom about what age its suitable for and if you can freeze the meal which I always found really helpful! I would always make 3 or 4 full recipes and then freeze them in portions and then I wouldn't have to make anything for a while after! (My blender scares my little girl!). I also found the library has a good selection of baby food recipe books! Good luck and don't forget variation is key!

author: Annabel Karmel has some pretty good books. Not all recipes are winners with my kids, but then again, it's all trial with your own.

I made my own baby food but have found that my DD prefers the food in it's whole form. She never really liked purees. I just started giving her pieces of soft food to eat and she loved it.

I was just on a parenting application on my Iphone reading about feeding babies food. I dont know if this is true or not however I thought I would mention it and figured you could maybe ask your health nurse or dr.
It says "Untill your baby is 7 months, don't puree your own beets, turnips, carrots, spinach, or collard greens because they may have large amounts of nitrates, wich can cause anemia in younger infants (commercial baby-food varieties are fine -- they're nitrate-free.) My child is not old enough yet for food however I thought I would mention this just to give a heads up.
Maybe google would give more info on that.
