1 or 2 times a day sounds good enough to me. I also integrated yogurt. I found that my 14-month-old didn't like milk at first but he really liked powdered milk and then later we found that he liked UHT milk and especially when warmed for 30 seconds in the microwave. Now he'll drink anything but it took a while.

he does not need much milk now, many kids fill up on milk and wont eat the food they need to grow. if he is getting 1 cup of milk a day but also eats a serving of cheese and a yogurt than he is meeting his dairy requirments

I agree with Brandy. Try the sippy cup and then try to find other foods rich in calcium like cheese (any kind), yogurt, kidney beans, broccoli, sardines, salmon, spinach, or figs. My daughter doesn't like milk, but loved broccoli, beans, and salmon. You can also us milk when making hot cereals, or soups instead of water to sneek it into his diet. Dry powdered milk can be added to baked goods like cookies, muffins, breads, etc with out the taste being affected. Just use 2 Tablespoons for every cup of flour that you use. What ever you decide keep offering the milk to him. Kids often go through phases where they will not eat something, but then turn around and love it the next day. :) Hope that helps!
