Oh things are going well though like I said it's hard... I stopped a week ago and still have some leakage but I am being faithful to bottle feeding. I feed my baby alot less and I get alot more time to myself. Though it sounds selfish I am really glad that I did this. I would totally recommend it as long as you know why you want to stop and you have good reason for it...i.e. me waking 5 times a night to feed my baby! Pumping and Dumping seemed like more work for me so I just decided to stop completelly...my parents or my inlaws don't live near me and I just can't do it all alone.... I have never been happier since she came though there was some mourning through this time, however... and I do miss it.. But I have been able to have some Amy MOMMY TIME well needed for sure.... I am going easy on the solids and am really trying to focus on the fact that it's a very new thing for me and baby! Thank you for all the amazing advice I really really appreciate the support.. sometimes it's hard! :) You all ROCK!

Amy, glad to hear things are going well. Just go slow with the solids. You might really bind your girl up and that's no fun for anyone.

Things are going GREAT! Thanks for the support guys! I am now weaning and switching out 2 meals of milk per day for one baby food/formula bottle. I would like to have her weaned soon but I am just keeping at it! She is doing great she ate a whole thing of carrots today such a proud mom!

My daughter is 11months old and i'm strugglin with changin her over. So maybe in some cases (if you wanna go back to work, or go on a trip etc) thn sooner the better. After all formula does have the nutrients and vitamins babies need. But once you've started carry on and dont stop!

Just a thought, what about pumping for her prior to your departures and while you are gone do the pump and dump? Yes, it would be easier, but you don't sound like you want to stop. If while you are gone she needs additional formula because whoever is caring for her runs out, then she gets some formula. If you do decide to pump, you will want to get started so that you have a good stock pile by the time you leave.

Anyway, it's just a thought. do what you feel is best for you and your family.

I am taking two big trips in the next 4 months without my baby, and in my mind it seemed easier to quit.

Dear Amy,
I have one little boy Panav, he is 3.6yrs old and yes I did breastfeed for about 7 months and I totally understand when you say you don't want to let go of breastfeeding ....I gave up when I started working full time and my milk became too diluted ...

do let me know how it goes for you ....and your baby

cheers

dont do it!
why are you switching to formula??????
i mean ultimately its up to you, but breastmilk is best and we all want the best things for our kids right?

go to the community called breastfeeding mums and read some of the articles about how breastfeeding is far better.

Adhrua thanks for telling me it's going to be tough I feel like a big sissy about it. Like I don't want to let go of breastfeeding. That made me feel good, I just may take your advice How many kids did you have? Did you breasfeed? For how long? And to Geralidine I have almost every bottle I can think of just in case... I will take your advice on trying the liners of course I am curious to see what will happen. I will update you both in a couple days! Thanks so much!

Hi! ita going to be tough...introduce fromula little by little few ounces at a time ..the child might take it all out or refuse taking it in ...incase you were breast feeding then you might have more issues as apart from getting food the babies feel secure close to mommy ....but keep at it and baby and you would be fine.

cheers
