My 2 yr. old son has had diarrhea that past couple days & a bad butt rash from it. What can I feed him to help constipate him a little, other than dairy because he's allergic?

My son is 8 years old, he is special needs and I'm having a problem with him having diarrhea, he doesn't have a fever, I feed him the bananas and applesauce, and rice and he still has it, I wonder is there anything I could do?

Oh, and for the rash I LOVE boudreaux's butt cream...it's amazing. You can find it at Wal-Mart or Kroger.

Our pedi told us to give Isabella bananas, dry toast, and apples. Pedialyte!

I suggest paw paw ointment for the rash or an ego product called egoderm They are both super rash cures!

If the faecies is particularly smelly he may have a bacteria infection (picked up from other children) and shoudl see a Dr.
Howeve rif you think it is just from teething water that has been boiled then cooled will help. You shoudl only drink boiled dooled water when you have a tummy upset with diorhea. Also grated green apple (granny smith is the best) This can only be eaten for a day or two. If the symptoms persist after this time you really need to take him to a Dr.
A product with electrolites from the chenist for the child to sip on to flavour the boiled water, will also be of benefit to the child.

Our son takes a baby multivitamin and he hasn't had a diaper rash or diarrhea or constipation ever. I am very thankful for being able to find a good baby and toddler multivitamin, because you never know what is in regular multivitamins. He may be sensitive to other foods and that is the way his body is trying to tell you and him! you need to get him tested for allergys to food.

Bananas work great! And for the bum rash mix Malaox (spelling??) and Desitin. I know it sounds odd, but my daughter had major butt rash problems when she was teething. The Malaox actually stops the burn that comes with the rash... Good Luck!!

They say bananas, rice and toast. But be careful because if he has a bit of a stomach virus, it's going to have to work itself out anyways and then if you feed him all this stuff on top of the infected diarrhea, he could just get rid of the diarrhea and then end up really constipated afterwards. So, don't go overboard. Good luck.
