My baby is 5 months old. He has down syndrome. Today he is getting a permanent pacemaker in. He has had 2 open heart surgeries. He has a G tube because he is not able to eat enough by mouth. I am 21 years old. Living at my in laws.with not much income. Now my husband wants to be in the Navy. I am so confused and scared. Me and my husband have a great relationship and we are so in love. Our baby has brought us closer together but I'm scared I am going to loose my baby. Or I'm going to loose my husband if he goes in as a navy seal (that's what he wants to do) there are so many things going on I don't know what to think.

Wow you have a lot going on right now! I bet it feels like you are all alone in your fear and worry sometimes. Have you considered trying to find a support group in your area for military wives, or heart moms or parents of children with DS? I can't imagine going through all of this at 21. You are obviously very strong and brave and your baby is lucky to have you as his or her mommy. Just keep doing what you are doing and I know you'll get through this. I'm praying for you.

Hey, my daughter is 7 weeks old and has a serious heart condition and also has digeorge syndrome. My husband is leaving next week he works abroad, I am dreading him leaving and feel scared and resentful. But love is strong, and I'm sure you will have to talk a lot and work through this together, life isn't easy but we have been blessed with beautiful babies they are our priority, the husbands need to provide by working its hard for them too, just harder for us mums I'm sure. Keep positive.
