What does everyone do with their kids? I felt like Vegas used to be a little more family-friendly, but I'm having a hard time finding activities outside going to the park or spending way too much money taking them to certain places.
Any ideas? I'd appreciate any feedback anyone has. :)

Its all things for kids under 2 years and mostly free. I've been taking my kids to ChuckECheese since they could walk and have yet to actually catch anything there...yet. Desert Breeze has a free open gym, you'd have to go to the site to find the days since I can't remember! There are a ton of fun playgroups here in Vegas that can help out with play areas. Meetup.com and Yahoo groups has tons. Good Luck!

This information has really come in handy! Thanks! I have a two year old son, and there doesn't seem to be much to do for him here either! So, if anyone has anymore ideas, could you post them here, or message me! I do take him to the parks(very few here), and to chuck E cheese, but I need to have him around other children!

I just started a blog last week that will post Kid Friendly events in Las Vegas. I also review places we've been to take the guess work out of going new places. I have 3 girls and we love to get out of the house! It is a new blog so there's not much there, but after crazy christmas is over I'll have more time to update it! I saw online through the departments of parks and recreation that there are several activities for toddlers at different "community" centers around the Vegas area. Have any of you tried any of these activities?

I usually take my kids to the Chuck E cheese on Lake Mead. I have never had any problems there. The kids always have a blast and it is a very affordable night out for the family.

You can never be too cautious when it comes to kids and germs. I was just really worried that something terrible happened at one of them. (I am a major worrier, trying to get over it but it's really hard!)

The few that I have been to here don't seem very clean but then again, I am a bit of a germ nazi when it comes to my children.

There are many thing it just depends on age range. We took our 10 month pld to the Shark Reef at Mandalay, under 4 is free and vegas residance get a discount. She had a blast just watching them swim.
There is also Fitwize on Tropicana (a gym just for children).
King Putt- indoor mini golf on Eastern.
Candy Chemist on St Rose prkwy,
City light music classes 7028384751, $200 for ten classes
Pump it Up INflatable play zone on Sunset or one in Henderson.
Gymboree classes,
Austrailian swim scool on Olympic ave.
The artful potter (Summerlin and Green Valley)
Patty Cakes (does tea parties)
Fairytales and TuTus on Rainbow, they sell costumes and give dance lessons
After School Art,
Rock and role kids play gym.
Mckee Ranch (horse and Pony rides)
Bonce U My Gym
The Spring Preserve (Lots of nice walking trails and local habbitat) Also has a locals discount
Kids Quests in some casinos allow for you to drop your child off so you can go play or watch a movie. They run about 6 an hour plus food.
There are also a few chuckie cheeses around here but use those at your own risk.
The library is also a good place for some lower key fun.
Also other than gas money, driving up to Mnt Charelston and letting the kids play in the snow is free.
Do not go to the Las Vegas Zoo, it is over run by chickens and there really is not alot to see on its tiny 3 acres.

Well.. I guess it depends on how old your kids are. Crystal Palace on rancho does family skate night for $20 on Tuesday nights from 6:30-9:30. You get a family of 4 in, a large pizza, and 4 drinks. Considering it's normally $9 a person to get in, that's a pretty good deal. Also you can try joining moms groups and having play dates. That's always good because you get to socialize and so do the kids. In the summer time the community pools and water parks are good. The library is a great idea Juliana. Also some book stores do story time as well. I think sunday mornings at the Santa Fe they do $1.50 bowling specials. And I am sure other bowling alleys around town have other specials as well you would just have to call around. I hope some of that helps. how old are your kids? i take my kids to the library sometimes... they have storytime once a week, lied museum, m&m store, bellagio gardens (with a good gelatto!), fao schwarz at ceasers....oh.... krispy kreme! hahahha
