New Home Schooling Mom

Hello Everyone, I just became a homeschooling mom. My 8 year old son brought a pocket knife to school because he wanted to show it to his friends. ( it is not his knife, he took it without permission) He was not trying to do anything wrong. But the point is the school has suspended him for a whole calendar year. So now I have to finish this year off of 2nd grade and do next year. I just want some support and sugggestions on how to do this. I have other children who are older but I have never homeschooled so please help me.

There are a TON of places to find information or curriculum to use. Many people just pull stuff from local libraries, the internet, etc. You can also "borrow" books from the school. I put that in quotes because here we have to pay a deposit that we get returned at the end of the year, once we return the books. However, we opted out of borrowing their books and just found curriculum that we bought.
Next year we are planning on going through Christian Liberty Press CLASS. They provide all of the books you need and grade all of the tests and will provide you with a report card. There is sooo much information out there.
My daughter was just entering 4th grade when we pulled her out of the public school and I really do think it was the BEST decision we could ever make. She is now finishing the 8th grade. There is a lot of give and take with it, trial and error..
