Is there anyone out there who had used Abeka Dvd accredited program for more than one child at the same time in different grades??? This is going to be our first year homeschooling and I wanted something that was more of a "school at home" type of situation. Everyone I have talked to has said that Abeka was like this, so we decided to use the accredited dvd version for both our children.
I am wondering how this will work with two children at the same time, but in different grade levels?
Anyone know?

Samantha! I, too, have turned to Abeka for our program. We decided to not use the DVD version as I feel that in the elementry grades, I can do fine. I am somewhat opposed to having my child watching the TV for school. Maybe later, but not now. My daughter, almost 8, is just finishing her 1st grade in a public school and it has been such a hassle and frustrating for her and us. She is borderline special needs and the school district has taken away all her assistance (we can thank budget cuts). She can't make it on her own and the teacher has 25 other kids to worry about. We find that she works best with a somewhat strict routine,so we plan to follow the suggested curriculum from Abeka. I am currently using their math and language to supplement her current grade level.

I would suggest that you talk with Abeka itself or the field representatives. The field rep in our area homeschools his own and he was a wealth of information. He had lots of suggestions. I have also spoken with Abeka itself with many questions and have always gotten great answers (I homeschooled two older children as well several years ago). Good luck to you.

I would try typing into google homeschool curriculum reviews and reading their reviews. There are some really good sites out there that have a lot of reviews. good luck.
