yes unless she is atleast 57in and close atleast to 80lbs if you go on safekids.org there is a 5step test you can do in your car to see if she is big enough to sit with a seat belt only she needs to sit all the way back in the seat and her kness need to be able to beend over the edge of the vehicle seat with out her slouching next put on the seat belt and see if the lap portion stays low on her lap and not on her stomach shoulder belt needs to go across her chest not her neck if you go on this website it will tell you in detail

You need to check with your state laws. In RI, it is 10 years old or over 100 lbs and 54" tall. Your pediatrician will have the answers if you can not find them elsewhere. Always better to be safe and keep her in the booster for now.

I depends on her weight and height. This is from consumer reports:
A child should be restrained in a car seat from the moment you take your baby home from the hospital until she grows into adult seat belts, typically around the age of 7 or 8. Every state requires that kids up to 4 years old ride in car seats; most require booster seats for older children. At Consumer Reports, we have Ratings and recommendations for the series of car seats you'll need for your growing child.

My daughter is 10 and still requires a booster seat according to Oklahoma law. However, when her friends, who no longer require booster seats, are traveling in the car with us I let it slide unless we are going to be traveling in a lot of traffic because she is embarrassed. I know that isn't right, but her emotional health is just as important.
