YES ONE OF THE SIGNS OF TEETHING IS EXCESSIVE DROOLING. AS FAR AS THE GAS, WHAT TYPE O BOTTLES ARE YOU USING? PLATEX ARE THE BEST. THE CLASSICAL MUSIC IS A GOOD THING, IT STIMULATES THE MIND. YOU HAVE TO GET HIM ON A SCHEDULE. A BOTTLE EVERY 3HRS TO START AND AT NIGHT TRY SELF SOOTHING TECHNIQUES. ONE IS PUT HIM IN THE CRIB AND IF HE CRYS DONT PICK HIM UP. BUT IF AFTER ABOUT 15MINS HES STILL CRYING THEN PICK HIM UP. HE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO PUT HIMSELF TO SLEEP. IT MAY SOUND CRUEL BUT IT WORKS. I HOPE THIS HELPS

Good luck! I hope by now this has improved for u. Our daughter had colic for months, and it was rough! Teething is also rough. Just remember, this too shall pass, it won't last forever. If you have family able to give you a break, do it! Or a trusted friend. A swing was the one thing that allowed us to stay sane. she would sleep in the swing. Eventually, about 6 months, we had to teach her to sleep in bed, but she never slept through the night until she was a year. Each kid is different, so good luck. Find what works, and use it. A little orajel may help, if you suspect teething, and sticking your finger in the mouth would be the only way to know for sure.

My daughter was a colicky baby. I was up walking floors with her every night and she was still spitting up at 9 months. Well, we both lived through it. (she is now 41). Drooling could be teething. And teething could also cause the sleep problems. Could take to his doctor about it.

When my son was a baby he slept in his carrier alot...I think it made him feel secure. I used to have to drive him around at night to put him to sleep...the car ride soothed him!

Babies just love to be held helps them feel secure - a big crib all alone sometimes just doesn't work wrapping might work, help him feel more secure but he is young yet and the sleep pattern takes time just be patient you are doing everything right i would suggest letting him sleep with you but some parents don't like that idea up to you if not wrap in the blanket like the hospital does take care Sandra

Hi Deriela,

When my baby boy was 2 months old he also started drooling quite a lot and we thought he might be teething and he turned out not to be. After doing research, I found out that it was possible for a baby to teeth that early, but not likely.

Also, when my baby was that little, I had him sleep in a bassinet beside my side of the bed until he was about 3 - 3 1/2 mos old. He also got up every couple of hours to eat and went right back to sleep. I also found that adding just a little bit of cereal to his nighttime bottle works like a charm!! It will fill his little belly up and help him sleep. And we still play music for him. We put a CD player in his room (on a shelf where he can't get it, of course) and it plays Baby Mozart all the time.

Sounds like everything you are experiencing is normal and nothing to worry about. Don't worry, my baby is my first also, and I used to ask the same questions and have the same worries!!

Wish you lots of luck!!

when my oldest wouldn't sleep @ all @ nite we tried putting her in the swing w/the lights & music playing that worked w/her. my youngest who is 5 wks wouldn't sleep either & we had to go out & buy the fisher price rock n play sleeper which she loves. u could try putting some cereal into his bottle b4 putting him down 4 the night that always worked w/my oldest as well.

thanks.. Cheryl before all this started to happened he was sleeping great in his own room n his own crib and that was like two nights ago... he started all this when he started to drool alot more then couple of days before. melissa i do all that and he still wont sleep.. the max he would do is 20-30mins... tonight i saw two white tips on his gums so we shall see what my mom things about this when i take him to her tomorrow. she helped raise all her nieces and nephew and raised her 4 daughters all by herself...plus my little sister works at a dentist office so i will see if they could look at his gums for me. thanks let see if he sleeps tonight.

Try putting his baby bed right next to where you sleep-it may help him to know that mom is so near by. Try to gradually get him to sleep in his own bed-on his back of course! Good luck!

he could be teething but it could be he's just a poor sleeper all you can do it keep trying to get him to sleep in his cot lay him dowm pat him gently if the music helps play it, might be worth trying a larger bottle at night just let him take what he wants from it also if he is falling asleep without eating he may just be looking for comfort try patting him without picking him up (don't let him gt distressed though) last but not least i would try wrapping him just be carefull not to overheat him :) hope this helps
