Did you like Lisa's struggle with keeping the baby? And, did he switch #13's meds?

Being an intelligent woman, Lisa should have recognized her mothering doubts and innability to connect with the baby as a common issue, as something many new moms go through, and should have recognized that she knew it would pass when she had the doubts! The show disapointed me a little bit there.

I missed the last couple minutes- not positive he did switch the meds or not, but I'll bet he did since next weeks episode is about #13 getting sick!

I think that Foreman switched them, but you bring up an interesting point of House doing it. I never thought of that.

I thought it was great how they brought up Lisa's doubts. It's very real when you adopt to have second thoughts and/or post-adoption depression. You don't always think about that when you are excited about adopting (just like you don't think you'll have post-partum depression when you find out you're pregnant). When she was talking to Wilson and told him that she didn't feel anything, etc., I actually paused the show and told my husband "That's exactly how I felt after we brought C home (our adopted son)." It was refreshing to me to see it portrayed in her storyline because it's realistic to feel that way. I agree that she should have gotten some help sooner, but she is used to doing everything herself and very successfully. Plus, don't most of us women want to "do it all"??

Is it House that switched the medicines for 13 or was it Foreman

I really liked how they had the story line they did with Cuddy.  She has waited SO LONG to have/get a baby and so her expectations for what will happen when she's a mom must have been through the roof.  She probably felt like she would be instantly happy and when she wasn't, she felt like a failure.  For a woman who's worked hard throughout her life and obviously has had a great deal of success, it would probably be hard to accept what seems like a failure.  I like how in the episode before, Wilson had to tell her that she wasn't expected to be Superwoman/Mom but so many women feel like they have to be, I certainly did.  And then you burn yourself out, which is also what she was doing.

And Beth, I don't know what sort of fabulous baby/babies you've had, but I certainly was exhausted the first couple months (and on) after having my baby.  And I couldn't imagine also having to go to work and run a hospital (with House in it).  I couldn't get more than an hour and a half of sleep at once since I can't fall asleep quickly.  I totally can sympathize with Cuddy!

I agree also... with the Lisa issue.. the last few weeks they've made it seem having a baby from 0 - 8  weeks is awfully exhausting... in most cases except to eat and diaper changes, babies usually sleep alot... I think the writers wrote her part assuming too much in being a new mom....  as far as emotional.  I'm sure being an adoptive mom has it's own struggles.  It's nice that House didn't let her wallow in her self pitty.

I have become a little disappointed with the writers of this show lately. Lisa's problem did seem a little trivial- with her being a doctor and all. What's the big about hiring a sitter while she's at work? All working moms do it.
