i am so happy to find this site. We have a son 4 and a daughter 14 mths she is achondroplasia. We were told she probally wouldn't walk until around 3 since she has had some set backs and her head is very large. When did your children walk?

Hey Lisa I'm so glad you found us! My son (9) has hypocondroplasia, and we too were told that he wouldnt walk at the average age .... however he was walking before his peers! Granted we have had several other growth problems that were not predicted by the doctors, we have overcome 90% of them. Doctors are great & often the main source of hope for parents who feel that no one else really understands exactly what they are going thru .... my words of advice would be to enjoy every second and address the issues only when they become an issue. Jake has done many things that I never would have thought possible, like playing football, baseball & skateboarding granted I've had many sleepless nights full of worry but he is living his life while I stress!
