My son had a hypospadia surgery on Dec 8th..He got his catheter out on the 14th, he peed and made 2 BM that day. Well that night he started whinning that his pee pee hurt. I gave him Motrin and he feel asleep. Well that thursday morning he wouldn't pee unless I poured warm water down his belly( the nurse told me to do this after catheter removal) well he started peeing. I called the nurse station and told her everything she said it sounds like he is just scared to pee, try to encourage him to pee in the potty. But to call back if he starts to cry when he is actually peeing. Well this has been going on sice last thursday. This morning he needed to pee I encourged him to potty in the big boy potty that was not happening to the shower we go! I poured water down him and he started peeing he was fine until the very end he was trying to push all the pee out and wanting to bend down and screaming. I don't know whats wrong he is fine little boy afterwards..Has this happened to any one?

My 2 yr old son just had a hypospadis fistula repair done on Thursday. He is doing fine until he has to see (he does not have a catheter). He is potty trained but it hurts him so bad to pee he can't go on the toilet. He asks for a diaper bc he holds his pee in now until the last second and then screams while he's doing. It hurts him for a few minutes after he's done going too. When I told the doctor, he acted surprised that it hurt so bad to pee and said it's just bc he's healing and probably now scared to pee. I'm wondering if any other parent has been through this and how did their child react.
