Second stage surgery

My son just had his second stage hypospadias surgery 3 weeks ago and recently more so at night time he has been itching down there. Is this normal?

When my son went through his surgery for hypospadias I remember him trying to itch a lot because the skin was healing/scabbing over. I did try to prevent him from itching it though so it would heal faster. I would put a little Petroleum jelly on it so it wouldn't be so irritated. Just keep an eye on it and if you are concerned that there might be an infection then call his Doctor. Always better to be safe when it comes to such sensitive areas. Hope this helped =)

My son had his surgery a month and a half ago and we put Neosporin and that seem to help with itching and healing.

I agree to give his doctor a call about it and keep applying the Neosporin to it as well to help with the skin healing.
