where are you all taking your babies for check ups? I'm having a tough time finding a doctor that doesn't push the idea of vaccines.

I so know the feeling! every time I took my baby who is 8months old in for a checkup the first thing out of the doctors mouth was vaccinations...after the third visit I went to the health department and asked them for a vaccination exempt form had it notorized and placed in my daughters file so they would stop asking and if it comes up i simply remind them that we do not and will not be vaccinating

I asked my OB if she knew a PED for my kids, she did and I am very happy with her.

It took a few goes at different doctors, but then i went to a medical centre which also practiced natural medicines and homeopathy.  There is a homeopathic lady there who is on my side, and she also does nursing days.   So maybe have a look for those types. :) good luck

You can try Mothering.com/discussions, the Finding Your Tribe forums.

I found ours through our MOMS Club. I posted to the message board asking for a ped. who accepted patients who don't vax.

I know some people, including a good friend of mine, who take their kids to pediatric chiropractors.

Hope this helps!

Like Janice, I primarily use a Naturopath. Depending on your health insurance, it may be covered up to a certain amount, but usually they will offer payment plans and cash discounts. I also have been lucky enough to find a family doctor who is an MD but she is also very natural. She does not push vaccines at all. However when my son was an infant and I did take him to the pediatrician for a few checkups, I would simply tell the dr. that I had done my own research and felt that vaccines weren't the right choice for me. My advice is this: Like the research you've done on vaccinations and making the choice to not have them, do your research on the doctors in your area. You may find an MD like mine who will respect your decision, and of course, asking people is a great start!

My girls have grown up 18yrs and 24yrs but I never really had a problem with it, I hadly ever took them to doctors always naturopaths, it wasn't something I discussed with doctors and because I am a nurse I think I must have talked around it, but I know things are different now,but if you take your child to the doctors state you are not there to discuss vaccinations you are there for what ever reason you are there, I always say I am not interested in  statistics because for medical problems I have ever had it is always 1:1000 or 1:100 etc that gets a particular condition (so they say) and I always say I don't want my chid to be a statistic. I live in Australia" the australian vaccination network" are very helpful and lots of advice and information is available.
