My son is diagnosed with coronal cranio..

When we went to his 4 th month visit to the pediatric , she was not able to feel the anterior fontanel and hence recommended to neurosurgeon , the minute he saw my baby he said that the problem is not with anterior fontanel but instead his front right coronal suture is fused and needs surgery ..he looks perfectly normal to me , but we had the CT scan done and he confirmed it, we went to see the plastic surgeon and they scheduled it on march 5th. All this happened with in 2 weeks..I just don't get it..now i have taken another appnt for second opinion , I know that it will end up in surgery . I would appreciate if you could help me by letting me know what i should be asking the doctor, what should i be looking at the hospital , what should we prepare for and everything little info is appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply...My daughter had her right coronal and she looked very normal at first you could not tell it is after their skulls start to grow that you will see 1 eye is bigger and maybe his head will look flatter on one side we were told she would need surgery but not until she was 9 months old... you might have a choice between endsopic surgery but after that surgery the kids wear a helmit for some time we went with the bigger surgery and she did dose not a helmit they also rebuilt her right eye orbit and now she is 100 fine for me it was all done at once and she will never remember it!
