My Daughter just turned 6 months today. I started her on rice cereal a little after 4 months old. And, about a month ago started her on oat cereal as well. Now that she's 6 months, I'd like to start her on veggies and whatnot. I'm wondering what is best to start babies on?

A nurse told me meat but I've always heard veggies first. Should I use peas? Carrots?

And, when is a good time? Supper?

Right now her schedule:

Wake up at 7:30 - 8 am, eat 6 oz formula.

11 am oat cereal and 6 oz formula.

2 pm 7 oz formula.

5:30 - 6 pm rice cereal.and 6 oz formula.

8 pm 6 oz formula (she normally doesn't drink it all before she falls asleep).

I am open to any suggestions! Just want whats best for my baby.. :)

Thanks, Kate.

I would say a mix of fruits, veggies and meats (not all at the same time) but through out the day to get a well rounded source of nutrition. If you want to start her off with only one meal a day then I would suggest the meal thats closest to bath time. It makes for easier clean up.
