This morning I was watching a morning show, and there was a segment debating whether it is okay for a mother to take some "selfish time". Selfish time in their terms was taking time out to read a book, have a cup of tea while flicking through a magazine etc.
I object to the term "selfish time". I don't think it is selfish to take ten minutes to do something relaxing - especially in those moments where everything is piling up and you're stressed out of your mind.
Of course, there are moments where it is just not plausible to take ten minutes for yourself, but one woman was saying that because you chose to be a mother you sacrifice any time for yourself.
I don't agree with this at all, I think taking time for yourself every day is incredibly beneficial to a mother's wellbeing. It makes her happier, and less stressed, and that creates a stress free environment for her child.
Just wanted to get everyone else's opinion on this matter?
