I was told you do not need to take them out unless you are feeding the baby.

I was a body piercer and I had 2 in each nipple when I got pregnant with my first. It does not effect your ability to breastfeed. The only time you need to take the jewelry out is when you are actually breastfeeding so that it does not effect the way your baby latches on and so that it does not become a choking hazard if it comes loose in your baby's mouth.

You'll have to take them out. But having had them pierced won't affect your ability to breast feed. I only had one before I got preg, and both my kids favored the previously pierced one :P lol. Just get them re-pierced later!
