I just had my baby on the 15th of January. My husband and I had sex a couple days ago and we didn't use protection nor am I on birth control yet. We used the pullout method but then again u can never be too sure. Definitely don't want to conceive again esp so soon! I haven't gotten my period yet since delivery so I'm a little nervous. Is it possible to be pregnant even though even before my period?

I was nursing my first daughter when I became pregnant with my second. It was about 4 months after the birth, the first time my husband and I had sex after the birth. Since I was nursing, my cycles had been disrupted, and as a result, I never had a period after my post-natal bleeding stopped. I knew I was pregnant (about 3 months after conception) because I started feeling a tightness in my belly where my c-section scar was healing that felt different. I can't explain how it was different, it just was. About the time I noticed that tightness, my older daughter also started crying more and losing weight. My milk started to dry up. I took a home pregnany test on a hunch, and voila.

I found out I was 2 months pregnant with my son when my daughter was 16 months old. I was still breastfeeding her at this point, although she also ate lots of solids. I hadn't had my period yet, but had stopped taking the mini-pill 2 months before, so we knew conceiving was a possibility. I had taken a pregnancy test on a whim and was quite surprised when it came out positive.

My mom and sisters had no trouble conceiving either, and the men in my husband's family joke around how they are very fertile, and that it always worked in the first month or two of trying, so I guess it's a genetic thing.

My son is now 5 months old, breastfed exclusively, and still no return of the period: so I haven't had a period since December 2009! It's kind of nice, actually...

My first son was born on August 8th, 2008 and I found out I was pregnant again at his 3 month check-up. The doctor thought I was joking when I asked him to do a pregnancy test! My boys are 1 year and 11 days apart. I had a very bad period in between, but I never really thought it was a period because I bled for about 8 weeks after my first was born. After thinking about it, I now realize it was a bad period. I bled for 3 months straight with my second so there could've been a period in there, but it was hard to tell.

I had my son nov 12th and at his baptism I has 2 seizure and the next day I had another one which end me up in the er which they ran test but I signed myself out cause it was getting real late and my older kids had school the next day so on the way home my husband and dad both told me I should call my neuro to see if I could get in that day . So that monday we went to my dad's house to pick up some stuff and go see my dr but before that I started to throw up and both my dad and husband said that I better not be pregnant again. So when we went to see my neuro they said to go home and take a test just to see . ( my baby at the time was a fertlity baby we were told after him we could not get pregnant unless we did more treatments) so I went home and did a test when my husband went to work and that test was positive along with 14 others I wanted to make sure it was right . my son and daughter are 10 months apart and my older two are 4months apart they are step brother and sister I have my hands full plus I have a seizure disorder with rsd but god gives you only what you can handle right!

That was me ! My second was conceived sometime in that first month after my first was born! The doctors told us it would be impossible but I guess my husband has some kind of super sperm , He ended up being born at 27 weeks because of complications. From my first to second they are only 7 months apart !

And our doctor told me we couldn't get pregnant the first three months since I was breastfeeding! LOL LOL Guess what? We did. I just delivered the little surprise 2 months ago. They are 10 months and 1 day apart. :) Being pregant with a newborn was so hard. Good luck.

I became pregnant with twins while breastfeeding around the clock. I hope you changed doctors!

We were out with friends and joked about my mood. She said well, maybe you're pregnant and then I realized that I hadn't had a period since my daughter was born. Suprise!! Our kids are 10 1/2 months apart and are best friends now that they are 2 and 3.

I had one period i was so gutted it came back early, but we decided i should try and learn how to do charting so we could TTC as soon as possible, a week after that discussion i felt drained and my milk supply dropped, was going to see the doctor about it but thought he will just make me do a preganancy test so i may as well take one at home so i could tell him i had tested and thats not the problem, well i got a surprise didnt I, was so happy i could stop charting as it was confusing anyway LOL, i so didnt want my babies to have birthdays in the same month, but after watching people painfully try calculate the difference when i told them i was due in July and my 1st baby was born in Aug, im glad i can just say they are both August babies or 360days apart.

Well...no...but I thought it was because I was breastfeeding:) My girls are 11mos & 1 day apart - I swear I knew almost immediately, I just 'felt' pregnant again...or STILL. I was ecstatic though, no thinking about when or if we'd want to try again, etc. I had all the maternity clothes and the baby stuff....it was a rough few years, but totally worth it!

It was the same for me.  Right after we got the all clear from the 6 week check up.  My girls are 11 months 6 days apart.  I couldn't believe it. I was breastfeeding and on the mini pill.

Same here! Had my 1st daughter at 29 weeks, pumped like a mad woman for her, never got my period. When she was 3 months old my husband told me i was acting like a bear and he was going to go and buy me a pregnancy test. i told him that i couldn't be... soon i was walking out of the bathroom laughing in disbelief! the only sign that i could remember was having really sore nipples while i tried breastfeeding and milk supply went down, i thought at the time it was a bad latch/ first time nursing issues.

Me too!!! I even went to the doc and he told me it was normal for your period to take a while... even if you had stopped breastfeeding.(I had to because of severe thrush). I really knew when I had a ligament pain one night...the light went on! LOL. I had been wondering why I was sooooo tired, even though my baby was a good sleeper. I also suddenly stopped losing weight.

Hehe, yeah that's what happened. I didn't think I was pregnant, I just thought it was after birth horomones. But after 2 months with no period my husband told me I was pregnant, and I was. He seems to be really good at knowing I'm pregnant:S

Happened to me as well. I literally could not believe it, I was breastfeeding round the clock and it had taken 2 years to get pregnant the first time. After my daughter suddenly significantly slowed down on her breast milk intake at 3 months I consulted with my lactation specialist. We went through a listing of things and finally she said, maybe you are pregnant. I looked at her funny and after a week thought, well it wont hurt to check. 4 home tests later - all positive I told my husband, whom couldnt believe it. When I went for my first OB appt, pregnancy #2, the nurses asked if this was my 6 week postpartum check up! Doc came in and joked that I am one of his fastest "return customers" :)

I did.  I started getting sick and my milk supply went down.  I went to the doctor and he did the test.  I cried and told him it wasn't possible because I had a baby already. LOL

My baby was in the Dr.'s office for suspected pneumonia, when they went to give her an x-ray to confirm they asked me if I was pregnant. Since, I had not had my period yet as she was just over 2 or 3 months old I could not be sure. Took a home test few days later and it was confirmed I was pregnant. My youngest girls are 10 1/2 months apart, little one came 2 weeks early. Thank goodness for my oldest daughter who was 5 when the little one was born. She was a huge help. Things are finally getting easier now that they are both potty-trained and pretty self sufficient.

This is exactly how it happened for me. I needed some medication for an eczema flair and since I had not had a period yet my doctor suggested a pregnancy. I thought she was crazy! Imagine my surprise when the test came back positive. My boys are 9 months and 27 days apart.

Yes... I had a c-section so I was bleeding for a few months after having my first.. When it finally stopped, I noticed I had morning sickness. I thought to myself that I couldnt be pregnant, but it turned out, I was..

Yep, that was me! My middle child was nearly three months old and I hadn't had a period. My boobs were getting sore again all of the sudden. I was laughing with my sister about it and she asked me about my period. She was concerned that I was pregnant again . . . I thought she was crazy! But I took a test that night and sure enough . . . I was pregnant. My second and third boy are 10 months and three weeks apart! I guess I just figured it out because all my pregnancy symptoms that had subsided all started reappearing again . . . boobs, cravings, extreme fatigue, etc.
